Lord Golden Lion is the very first boss that you will encounter in Lost Soul Aside, during the first quest of the game’s Chapter 1, named Departure. In this quest, you will enter Mount Salvation and stumble upon Golden Soldiers, as well as Lord Golden Lion himself. Fortunately, the boss is quite forgiving, given that he’s the first one you face, and this is also the part where the Skill Upgrade menu is introduced. But if you’re one of the players who struggle with him, here’s how to beat Lord Golden Lion and counter his moves.
How to Defeat Lord Golden Lion In Lost Soul Aside
After fighting Golden Soldiers and some worms, you will eventually come face-to-face with Lord Golden Lion himself.
Some important tips before you take him on: make sure to upgrade your skills through the Upgrade Menu and prepare some potions for healing. It’s also recommended to make a manual save with Liana, who can be found at the entrance of the battlefield. Moreover, if you haven’t quite perfected your moves and combos yet, you can talk to Liana to enter the Battle Simulator, which essentially serves as the game’s training area.

Now, looking at the Lord Golden Lion, it is a much bigger version of the Golden Soldiers. Not only bigger but beefier, as if you’ve noticed, the boss has two health bars and an orange-colored shield bar.
The battle against Lord Golden Lion is a mix of landing attacks and dodging his attacks. His strikes can take a huge chunk of your health, so here’s everything he does and how to counter them.
- Stomping attacks: The boss will unleash four attacks while sending out circles that deal massive damage. These circles expand outward, and it’s practically useless to try outrunning them. Instead, dodge or jump over the circles to avoid taking damage. Afterward, you’ll also need to dodge or perfect block the large boulder that he kicks toward you.

- Huge slash attack: A quick slash attack that you can dodge. Requires good reaction time.

- Sword attack: The boss will point his sword to the ground, creating a circle. Dash out of the area quickly, as it deals quite a lot of damage.

- Lunging attack: Pretty easy to dodge. The boss will turn into golden dust before performing a forward lunge. Evade as soon as you see the blue circle.

This may take some practice to get the hang of, but you’ll get there. While dodging these attacks, try to land hits to whittle down his shield.
Once the shield bar is depleted, the boss will be staggered and unable to move. At this point, it’s best to save your Fusion Merge, as it will bring the boss down much faster than regular attacks. Cast Fusion Merge, and once the shield is about to reform, quickly use the Sync Finisher to shave off a large portion of his HP.

Repeat these things until you defeat the boss.
