How to Defeat Greateer Nue in Onimusha Way of the Sword
It’s not possible to miss this boss fight, so play through What Lurks in the Shadows until this creature attacks you. The Greater Nue has a set of moves you’ll want to be aware of.
- It attacks with a combo move, which is when it attacks with a strike and then a bite. Using Reflex Dodge can help avoid these moves.
- The Greater Nue sometimes uses thunder based attacks. Avoid the lightning strikes that hit the ground. Dodging or running away is the best way to avoid being hurt.
- Sometimes, there will be an attack with its tail. It will glow just before it lashes out. Deflecting or parrying is the only way to stop yourself from getting injured
- Finally, it can grab you with something that comes straight from its mouth, the stuff of nightmares. The only way to avoid getting hurt is to dodge reflexively.
Best way to win this fight is by dodging, parrying, and deflecting it’s moves. There does come a point where you can cut off it’s tail and toss it back at him but eventually it grows back so it might just be easier to finish the fight by continuing to dodge attacks when you can.
After you defeat the boss, you’ll not only progress the story in the game, but you will also get the Dokyo’s Fixation trophy, which is given the moment you defeat this boss.
