At a glance, this doesn’t look too hard to complete, especially compared to other achievements like Abundant Memories, which require you to travel to 70 different locations on the map! However, once you get started with Something From Nothing, you’ll quickly realise that the sheer resources you need to complete it make it an extremely difficult achievement to unlock. Make 10 Pieces of Gear At Julie’s Gearworks
In order to complete the Something From Nothing achievement in Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth, you need to make 10 different pieces of gear at Julie’s Gearworks.
Julie’s Gearworks is a small workshop that you can use to craft weapons, upgrade existing weapons, add brands to your weapons and trade materials. For the purposes of completing the Something From Nothing achievement, crafting is all you need to worry about.
When you complete Something From Nothing, you will be rewarded with 14 points or a silver trophy, depending on the console you play on. You’ll need to unlock this achievement if you want to 100% complete Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth. Fortunately, it is an unmissable achievement.
How to Complete Something From Nothing
To complete Something From Nothing, you first need to unlock Julie’s Gearworks. To do this, make sure you’ve completed Chapter Two of the main story. Once you’ve completed this Chapter, head to Hula Avenue, and you should spot the workshop. Julie will introduce herself, and then ask you to dispatch a hostile customer. After doing this, she’ll thank you and open up her workshop to you.
Once this interaction is complete, you’ll be able to craft as many new weapons as you can afford. To craft a new weapon, simply go to the crafting menu, scroll to the weapons tab and browse through until you find the weapon that you want to craft.
When crafting a new weapon, you need to have enough raw materials, sufficient money and the right Facility Rank. If you meet all of these conditions, you’ll be able to craft the weapon and it’ll become available in your inventory instantly. However, if you’re missing a certain resource/Facility Rank, you’ll first need to collect that resource or upgrade the workshop’s rank before you continue.
From here, you simply need to craft ten unique weapons to complete Something From Nothing. Unfortunately, there’s no quick/easy method to do this; you simply have to go out, buy the right resources and keep crafting. It’ll get more resource-heavy as you continue too. This is because you’ll be forced to craft some of the more expensive weapons.
Tips for Completing Something From Nothing
Here are a few tips that should make completing Something From Nothing a little bit easier:
- Craft/Upgrade Your Favorite Weapons. If you’re going to go to the effort of finding all the necessary resources to make ten different weapons, then you may as well devote these resources to crafting and upgrading your favourites. By doing this, you’ll simultaneously work towards 100% game completion, and become a more formidable force on the battlefield!
- Invest Cash. At some point or another, you’re going to need to upgrade Julie’s Gearworks’ Facility Rank, to unlock more crafting options. There are a few different ways to do this, but by far the easiest method is to directly inject cash. And, as long as you haven’t spent all your hard-earned money on calling Poundmates, it’s the quickest way to upgrade the workshop. So you can get back to the all-important task of crafting gear.
- Write Down the Materials You Need. You can actually view/note down the materials that you need to craft a certain item. To do this, simply look at the item’s description. This is a great way to speed up the crafting process. This is because it will direct you with which specific resources you need to buy, saving you precious time and money. And when you’re trying to complete Something From Nothing, you need all the money that you can find!
