How To Complete The Star Wars Outlaws Mechanic Expert Quest

The Star Wars Outlaws Mechanic is an Expert mission that unlocks a new Expert NPC. This mission takes place in between The False Flag and The Wreck chapters. Once you complete The False Flag, it’s time to leave Toshara. However, you cannot do that without a navigation computer. And you cannot get a navigation computer until you upgrade the Speeder.

How to Start the Star Wars Outlaws Mechanic Expert Quest

Prerequisite: The False Flag story chapter.

Kay must find Danka’s friend in Jaunta’s Hope. Go to Daruda Diner and talk to the bartender. After hearing about your troubles, the barkeep will mention that Selo could help with the Speeder upgrade. The bad news is that Selo’s whereabouts are unknown, however, rumor has it that Selo’s buddies in Kadua might be able to help.

How to Find Selo’s Friends in Kadua

• Open the map and check out Kadua’s location. It is a short Speeder ride west of Mirogana.
• Mark the location and simply follow the waypoint.
• Once you arrive in Kadua, you will see two NPCs next to a boat.
• One of them will tell you that Selo is northeast of Jaunta’s Hope.

Where to Find Selo

After speaking to Selo’s friends, a new location will appear on the map.

• Mark Selo’s shop location and use the Speeder to get there.
• Go to the back porch of the shop.
• Spot Selo at the workbench.

Interact with Selo and accept the Star Wars Outlaws Mechanic Expert quest.

Star Wars Outlaws Mechanic Expert Quest Walkthrough – Step 1: Find and Navigate the Wind Harvester

Selo’s services come in exchange for an Atmospheric Accelerator. The item is in a Wind Harvester northwest of Jaunta’s Hope. Ride the Speeder to the location marked on the map.

How to Enter the Wind Harvester

• Go to the left of the fan and spot the console.
• Use the Magnetic Disruptors Selo gave you to stop the fan.
• Hop on the Speeder and go down the shaft under the propeller.
• Make a right and enter the tunnel. The Magnetic Disruptors don’t work anymore, so the road ahead is blocked by a big spinning fan.

You need to find a way to bypass the fan. This part requires attention.

How to Get Past the Big Fan

• Advance through the tunnels.
• When you reach the ramp leading to a fan, look right to see a bridge.
• Go under the bridge and walk to the energy barrier.
• Command Nix to deactivate the barrier for you.
• Cross the inactive barrier and enter the vent.
• Climb the ladder to reach a tunnel with fans.
• Go through the tunnel until you see two fans on the right wall.
• Take a moment to learn the fan’s spinning patterns. Wait for the right moment to cross to the other side.
• Jump down and turn towards the passageway blocked by a fan.
• Shoot the node on the left of the passageway to turn off the fan.
• Jump to the platform.
• Climb the wall on the right using the handhold.
• Look up to see a metal grate and jump to reach it.
• Move left and jump onto the next handhold.
• Wait for the fan to turn off and make your way across the metal grate. Be careful, as the fan will blow you off if you attempt to cross while it’s on.
• Drop down and grab the handholds.
• Jump down on the pipe.
• Go inside the pipe through the hole.
• Walk straight until you reach another hole.
• Drop down into the hole and reach the corridor.
• Walk to the end of the path to find a chest and loot it.
• Go back and spot a narrow hole.
• Go through the hole and find yourself in the shaft behind the big fan.

Star Wars Outlaws Mechanic Expert Quest Walkthrough – Step 2: Retrieve the Atmospheric Accelerator

After getting past the fan, Kay is halfway to finding the Atmospheric Accelerator.

• Take the path to the right leading to a yellow grate.
• Climb the grate and notice the fan on the left.
• When the fan is off, jump over it, and grab the handhold up.
• Continue up over another fan.
• Go left and grab the handhold.
• Jump down onto the platform.
• Spot a fan in front of you. Shoot the left and right nodes to turn it off.
• Grab the grapple spike above the fan.
• Swing past the fan and land on the passageway.
• Watch out for another on/off fan and grab the handhold on the right.
• Go up using the yellow grate.
• Follow the yellow grates and handhold to go up.
• Move left using the handholds and drop to the passageway.

The boxes are the next obstacle to overcome.

How to Get Past the First Ejecting Boxes

• Wait for the boxes to eject and make a run for it.
• Go up the yellow grate.
• Follow the handholds until Kay jumps to a shelf.
• Climb up and notice the ejecting boxes below.

Kay now has to deal with another set of boxes that eject right after the first ones.

How to Get Past the Second Ejecting Boxes

• Wait for the first boxes to eject.
• Go to the other side fast before the second set of boxes becomes active.
• Get to the platform and look for the bar on the back wall.
• Go right towards the fans.

How to Pass the Fans

• Grab the handhold in the middle of the first fan.
• Wait a moment for the second one to switch off.
• Cross the inactive fan.
• Grab the bars and climb the shaft.

The most challenging part is over and you can retrieve the quest item.

Where to Find the Atmospheric Accelerator

• Climb and reach the control room.
• Notice a chest and a box on the table. Loot them.
• Interact with the terminal to obtain the Atmospheric Accelerator.

Star Wars Outlaws Mechanic Expert Quest Walkthrough – Step 3: Exit the Wind Harvester and Return to Selo Rovak

How to Get Out of the Wind Harvester

• Exit through the left door in the control room.
• Use the grapple points to get to the fan.
• Mount the Speeder and get out of the facility.

Go back to Selo to complete the Star Wars Outlaws Mechanic Expert quest.
