The First Resonance is one of the main story quests in Wuthering Waves. It takes place in Jinzhou City. Part of Chapter 1 Act I storyline. It is also an important quest that unlocks the ability to pass time, which will become an important game mechanic as you continue with your adventure.
A Guide To The First Resonance Quest In Wuthering Waves
To begin this quest you should find yourself at the entrance to the Jinzhou City, and as you continue to follow the quest marker your objective will change. We are then tasked with heading to the Nexus Beacon.
Head To The Nexus Beacon
We can reach the beacon by simply continuing along the path and up some stairs. Here there will be a large red beacon, to the left. This is our current destination.
Activate The Nexus Beacon
Once you arrive at the correct location Chixia will inform us that we have arrived at the Jinzhou’s Nexus Tower. Here we can also question this landmark and be told about it. Apparently it’s the city’s largest server station. We then need to activate the beacon
To activate the Nexus Beacon simply head towards it and activate the pedestal underneath it. This will then cut to a scene where we will have unlocked the Jinzhou map. These beacons also unlock the ability to fast travel
Take The Elevator To Reach City Hall
After unlocking more of the map we now want to explore the city hall, we can do that by taking the elevator. However, we will get stopped in the process by Yangyang who will mention the Magistrate and wanting Chixia to bring Rover to the City Hall.
Continue to follow the quest marker to arrive at the elevator. Ride it up to the city hall. Here we will meet up with Yangyang.
Sanhua – The Magistrate Bodyguard
After the conversation with Yangyang we can continue through the door. Follow through the next room and speak with the receptionist. We will then be greeted with another quick scene where Sanhua introduces herself. She is the bodyguard of Madam Magistrate. After the scene return back to Yangyang
A Suitable Place To Use Grapple
After the scene with both Yangyang and Chixia we now want to find a suitable place to learn and use a grapple. We also have the option to speak with the nearby kids too about candy. These kids can be seen wearing red and white dresses. One of them will even offer you a piece of candy as she was told to be nice to guests.
Enter The Academy
After speaking with the kids, this is, again, optional, simply continue to the quest marker by the ledge. Chixia will then decide to challenge everyone in a race to see who can get to the Huaxu Academy first. New Utilities Function has been unlocked. We can now use the Grapple.
Grapple your way to the Academy. Head inside and speak with Mortefi and ask about the location of Baizhi. Apparently she can be found in the Data Analysis Room.
Ask Baizhi About What Happened
Find and speak with Baizhi, who is just slightly north of Mortefi. She will mention that she has a very ideas regarding the sugar pearl but needs to verify it first. Mortefi will then join in the conversation.
Once it ends simply run around for a bit and speak with Baizhi once again. ‘Ensuring that you can sleep soundly at night’ she mentions that an entity, perhaps a monster, is lurking deep within Rover.
Start Simulation Training
We will now be whisked away to a training area, do not worry its a mere simulation area. As Baizhi calls it the Academy’s simulated training ground. It will force us into doing a number of challenges so that we can be experimented on, exciting! One of these tests will be to defeat a number of enemy targets.
After dealing with the incoming threat simply exit the area by using the teleport portal nearby. Continue through each portal until you encounter our next scene. Convene Function unlocked.
We will get a tutorial on the Convene Function which relates to companions and their weapons. Baizhi will also join the party.
Ask Mortefi About The Tokens
When you are ready proceed and speak with Mortefi. Who will introduce us to the Timekeeping Tool. Basically the ability to pass time. But first we need to gather parts from Xiangli Yao’s workshop. Which is, essentially, the room next door.
Simply scan the workshop for anything remotely interesting. Such as the nearby box full of necessary parts. Return these to Mortefi to receive a Sundial.
On the nearby terminal is a clue to where we can find our document. Apparently its on the ‘Wei’ shelf over in the archives room.
Enter The Archives Room
Head into the room opposite, this is the archives room. Now we need to search for clues about the mysterious token. Simply scan the shelves as we know its on one of them. Our clue for this was, of course, found on the terminal. Found the Archive: Sugar Pearl Vaccine and Tacet Discord Outbreak.
This documents will inform us of the Novafet acute infectious disease, which affects mostly children under 6 years of age and has no effective treatment. We will also learn of trials that took place on June 16 at 3pm. Another document we can find is the Archive: ‘The First Resonator’.
With both documents found we can then return and report back to Yangyang. We will be rewarded with a Sugar Pearl. This, then completes the quest.
