The Past is the Future Side Quest in Wuthering Waves is part of a quest-chain containing three parts: Introduction, Continued, and Epilogue. This guide covers how to make fish soup, skewers, solve puzzles, reach the top of West Hill, and more.
The Past is the Future: Introduction
Go to the marker in east Jinzhou and talk to the girl, Shixia, behind the theater. She is having trouble looking for the gifts her sister left for her. Use your sensor to find the gifts by opening your utility wheel and selecting the sensor.
Once you scan the area, your new objective is to go through the waterfall. You can jump off the cliff and glide across the pond to reach the waterfall. Meet Shixia and her dog Pudding by the tree. Pudding will lead you to points of interest where you can dig up clues. He always leaves behind a glowing marker when he’s found something. There is a chest with a Training Broadblade in the first location and an old report card in the second.
How to Make Fish Soup and Skewer In Wuthering Waves
Pudding leads you to a fire and picnic stove on top of the hill and your new objective is to make food. You need to make Milky Fish Soup and Jinzhou Skewers.
The Milky Fish Soup requires x1 Fish, x1 Angelica, and x1 Perilla.
The Jinzhou Skewer requires x2 Raw Meat and x1 Lemongrass.
These materials can be found around Jinzhou or you can buy them. You can buy fish from Mahe’s Grocery, flower ingredients from Shifant Pharmacy, and Raw Meat can be acquired by skilling Cows or Goats.
Once you have the ingredients, you can make the dishes for Pudding and Shixia.
Finding Clues In The Past is the Future: Introduction
After taking a break and eating, Pudding leads you to a new spot, but you discover it’s a rabbit hole. Three rabbits attack you and you’ll have to defeat them. Pudding leads you to a stone wall with cracks. In order to break this fissure, you must find a glowing gold rock and throw it at the fissure. The rock can be found down the hill in front of the tree.
You’re eventually led to a small pond and your new objective is to solve the puzzle. It’s much easier than other puzzles in this game since it only requires that you approach the glowing gold marker and “think”. After this, you continue up the cliff and speak to Shixia at the top. This finishes the first part of the quest and you have to wait for Shixia to contact you the next day to continue.
The Past is the Future: Continued
After Shixia contacts you, meet her at the camp at the foot of West Hill, near Lake Heights. After talking to her, your new objective is to climb West Hill. Continue up until you come across the glowing red pole. Activate it to continue. To get across the gap, there is a cannon next to it that will shoot grapple points for you.
Keep going, activating the poles and using the canyons and grapple points until you reach the gazebo at the very top. There, you and Shixia enjoy the sunrise and Shixia opens the object her sister, Shiyu, left for her. You end this section of the quest and gain the Future is Here trophy.
The Past is the Future: Epilogue
The epilogue for this quest is very short. Just meet Shixia behind the theater where you first found her and talk to her again.
