We have already done a page on the opening introduction so doing a page on the actual game’s ending only made sense too, right?
Well lets begin comparing the ending of both Resident Evil 3 Remake and Resident Evil 3 Original..
Resident Evil 3 Original –
In this version we see both Jill and Carlos managing to escape via a Helicopter (though in an alternative ending Carlos has been replaced by Barry).
We see the heroes managing to escape whilst the missiles are heading straight for Raccoon City, we then get a quick glimpse of the city being engulfed by the impact and destroyed.
Jill then as expected decides that she has had enough up on seeing the city being blown up and is determined to get revenge on Umbrella.
Resident Evil 3 (Remake) –
The ending in this version is much longer than the original, though unfortunately it has the same conclusion of the city being unfortunately blown up by missiles.
The new addition to this version however, is the fact that we get to see both Nicholai and Carlos fight each other which to our knowledge never happened in the Original.
We also get to see Nicholai destroying the Vaccine too and up to this point at least I thought Nicholai was a great character, though shady and full of greed I managed to look past this part but destroying the Vaccine and letting Raccoon City get blown was enough for me to turn ha!
Evil evil man ha!
In fact according to the Resident Evil Fandom Nicholai can survive the events of Resident Evil 3 (at least in the original anyway) if the player decided to negotiate with him, still after destroying the Vaccine I think he ended up deserving to get blown with the rest of the city in this version.
That’s a wrap for Resident Evil 3 and this page, or more so this page at least anyway. Who knows what Capcom has in store next, personally for me I would love a Resident Evil Code Veronica Remake as both that one and Resident Evil 2 are my top 2 favourite Resident Evil games.
Though, Resident Evil 3 was a good game too I didn’t enjoy it as much and I was never a fan of the ending and seeing Raccoon City getting blown up, a part of me was hoping it would somehow survive in the Remake and that we would get an alternative ending but sadly that wasn’t to be.
Raccoon City is one of my favourite places in video games as it holds a lot of nostalgia and memories so the ending to Resident Evil 3 is by far one of the most upsetting and depressing endings in my opinion.
