In this guide, we’re covering Black Myth: Wukong How to Beat Wandering Wight. The Wandering Wight is an optional boss during Chapter 1 that you can fly past or stop to fight. He is difficult for an early-game boss, but with sheer stubbornness you can defeat him. He leaves behind a spirit to collect and if you haven’t gotten the ability to collect them quite yet, you can still collect it at a Keeper’s Shrine.
Before the Battle With Wandering Wight

It’s recommended that you’re at least a level 10 or above when fighting the Wandering Wight, however you can still beat him at around level 7. It’s just extremely difficult. Invest your sparks into your health and stamina, since you’ll be running and dodging most of its attacks. Put additional sparks into stances or immobilization to do extra damage when you are able to land a hit.
It’s also recommended to fight Guangzhi first to get the Red Tides transformation spell and then return, but there are some out there determined to defeat the Wandering Wight before moving on. The Wandering Wight is in the Forest of Wolves, next to the “Outside the Forest” Keeper Shrine.
Wandering Wight’s Attack Pattern

Like with most bosses, your best bet is to memorize his attack pattern which may take a couple of tries. He has about seven different attacks. His main moves include crouching and shuffling toward you with his hands, which has a wide attack radius. Dodge when he does this.
His next attack is Headbutting, which should come as no surprise based on his appearance. During this attack, he quickly slams his head into the ground. You can identify when he is about to do this when he pulls his head back slightly. The moment you see this, dodge!
His third attack involves him slamming his hands into the ground, creating an earthquake. Sometimes, he does this for a few seconds, but other times he does this for a longer period of time, which increases the radius of the attack. Your best bet is to run in the opposite direction. You can also try to time it right and dodge through the shockwaves to reach the boss.
During his fourth type of attack, the boss will charge at you and clap his hands together in an attempt to crush you. You know he’s about to do this when he puts his head down and his arms out. Either run or time your dodge correctly.
During his fifth attack, the boss will raise his hand from a distance and shoot energy at you. Dodge to the left or right to avoid this long-range attack.
Another one of the boss’s attacks includes him jumping into the air and stomping on you. The moment his feet leave the ground, start running. Attacks like these are why investing in Staminia early on is important. Similarly, when he lifts his foot to stomp, run away because this attack has a wide radius.
How To Defeat The Wandering Wight Boss

Knowing the Wandering Wight’s attack pattern is only half the battle. On your end, you must avoid getting hit as much as possible. This boss can take you out in just a few hits. Use Immobilization and Red Tides, if you have it, every chance you get. Use heavy attacks to stun or knock the boss off balance before closing in and using light attacks. Keep to the other side of the stone pillars in the area. When the boss charges you, the stone pillars have a chance of knocking him off balance. However, don’t expect this to happen every time since he can also charge straight through them. To defeat the Wandering Wight, keep the right amount of distance, bide your time, and learn his attack pattern.
