Where to Find the Black Myth Wukong Guangzhi Boss

The Wolf Guai Guangzhi is part of the Chapter 1 challenges. You will find him in the Forest of Wolves. First of all, take down the Bullfrog and locate the Outside the Forest shrine.

Follow these instructions to reach Guangzhi:

  • Make your way further into the forest along the left side of the map.
  • Climb the hill, and eventually, you will reach a bridge where some enemies await.
  • Cross the bridge and continue straight.
  • You will see an archway confirming that you have reached the right location.

Black Myth Wukong Guangzhi General Strategy

Guangzhi is an intimidating boss with a lot of flashy moves. Don’t get distracted by the fiery weapon and observe when his attacks get to you. That’s when you need to dodge, not before.

The Immobilize spell makes quite a difference if you use it at the opportune moment. Don’t waste it when the boss is in the air because it cannot reach him. Wait for Guangzhi to finish an attack combo before using Immobilize. The spell will also interrupt charged attacks.

Recommended consumables for the Guangzhi encounter:

  • Body Cooling Powder to cure the Burnt effect and to boost your Burn resistance.
  • Evil Repelling Medicant so you can soak up more damage.

Black Myth Wukong Guangzhi Attack Patterns

Three-Swing Combo Attack

Most of the time, he will start the fight with a combo of three hits. He jumps into the air and hits you as he lands. Dodge all three attacks. Guangzhi takes a bit to recover. Use this respite to land a few hits.

Circle of Fire

Guangzhi spins his fiery blade, creating a circle of fire around him. This is a sign of the upcoming attack. When he raises the blade, that’s your cue to get ready. He will swing it from side to side. While it may look menacing, the hits are actually slow, so you have plenty of time to react.

Blade Jump

The boss uses his weapon as a pole to rapidly come at you. The telegraph for this attack is when Guangzhi raises the blade over his head and then forcefully slams it into the ground. He then uses the momentum to bounce off the blade and ground. Use dodge to move out of harm’s way.

Blade Jump Follow-Up

This attack follows the Blade Jump. Guangzhi jumps up one more time, but this time it is way higher. Wait for him to come down and dodge. Make sure to use Immobilize when he lands and hit him while he is down.

Crouch Dash

The boss crouches before dashing at you. It is a very fast attack, so be ready to dodge the instant you see him crouched.

Acrobatic Strike

Guangzhi takes a while to build up this attack. He rolls and leaps up in a series of dazzling moves. At some point, he will stop mid-air before rushing you. When you see him levitating, get ready to dodge.

Even from a distance, the fiery blade poses a threat. When the boss rolls out of your range, let him do his thing. Don’t go after him. Notice that he pauses for a bit before throwing the blade at you. Use this pause as a cue for a well-timed dodge.
