In this Black Myth: Wukong How to Defeat Nine-Capped Lingzhi Guai guide, we’re covering how to overcome this mushroom boss. The Nine-Capped Lingzhi Guai can be found in Chapter 5 in the Field of Fire. Read on to learn about its attack patterns and how to actually defeat and prepare for the fight!
Nine-Capped Lingzhi Guai’s Attack Patterns

The Nine-Capped Lingzhi Guai is a pretty simple boss with only four different attacks. Keep in mind that this boss leaves red trails on the ground that eventually explode, so make sure to avoid those while also dodging his attacks.
This boss is shaped like a mushroom and attacks with mace. In one attack, the boss will make a simple swing during close combat. He brings the mace up over his head before swinging, so dodge when you see him raise the mace. He also has a combo where he’ll swing the mace three times, ending the attack with a trust. The boss spinning before each attack gives you time to dodge.
In another mace attack, the boss will swing the mace up in an attempt to uppercut you. Dodge as he is swinging up. Lastly, the boss will throw its hat at you like a throwing star. The boss will grab his hat before doing this, which is your cue to get ready to dodge.
Strategies for Defeating The Boss

Utilize your spells, like Pluck of Many and Immobilize to gain an advantage over the enemy. The spirit of the Wandering Wight is always a good one to have and use since its headbutting attack deals a significant amount of damage.
