Grounded 2 requires plenty of grind, as you have to search for resources and craft items that can help you survive in a place filled with bugs. To help you get started, you must first build a Workbench where you can craft most items, from consumables to armor, weapons, and more. Although there are Lab Workbenches inside outposts, it’s not really ideal to depend on them since you cannot build inside these facilities. You’ll have to build your own Workbench at your base using various materials

How to unlock Workbench in Grounded 2
“Players can unlock the Workbench only after analyzing a particular resource. After reaching the Ranger Outpost: Snackbar, where you’ll get your Omni-tool, go outside and find any Grass. Chop it down and keep the Grass Planks. Then, go back inside the Ranger Outpost and head to the Resource Analyzer near the entrance. Analyze the Grass Plank, and it will give you 30 Raw Science and unlock the Workbench, among many other things.
How to build a Workbench in Grounded 2
You can build a Workbench by accessing Construction or by pressing B. Then select the Workbench, and place in an appropriate area.

In order to craft a Workbench, you must first have the following:
- 3x Grass Plank
- 4x Sprig
- 2x Sap
Grass Plank comes from Grass, which requires chopping. Sprig, meanwhile, is one of the most common resources in the game and you can essentially find them nearly everywhere.
On the other hand, Sap is a bit harder to farm. They’re usually attached to brown branches or roots, and you can just pick them up. However, if you want to passively farm Saps while focusing on other task, you can build a Sap Catcher instead. Sap Catcher requires 1 Acorn Top, 2 Weed Stem and 4 Crude Rope.
