The Legend Of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak – Friendly Felon quest is a required quest, located in Edith, given to you by Lott in Chapter 1. Lott saw his friend, Daniel, stealing money from the register and would like your help confronting him. You are rewarded with 1,500 Mira for completing the Friendly Felon quest.
Beginning the Friendly Felon Quest

To begin the Friendly Felon quest, approach the bulletin board in Old Town to pick up the quest and have a conversation with Agnes. When the note with the quest description appears, press the corresponding button on the bottom left to proceed and the quest will be added to your To-Do List. Your character invites Agnes to come along with him for the quest.
To open your to-do list, press the left arrow. From here, you can set active quests and open the travel menu.
Look Around Old Town for Lott

Your first objective is to look around Old Town. With the bulletin board behind you, turn left and go down the street. Make a left turn at the end and follow the curving path. You’ll come across a shop with a red awning and a set of stairs next to it. Go up the stairs. Lott is standing next to a tree.
Speak to him to learn more about the situation. Afterward, information about the quest appears on your screen and you can “Accept” or “Hold Off” on the quest. Accept it if you’re ready to begin.
Following Daniel

To advance the quest, wait for Lott’s phone call. To trigger the phone call, visit the Cafe and Department Store in the 7th district. After that, Lott will call you.
Once you receive the phone call, you’ll load into the Orbal Cafe Iota, where Daniel, the supposed thief, will be. Head halfway up the stairs to the standby location to keep an eye out for him.
Once the cutscene ends, you’ll be in a new location outside. Run across the street to the building with the words “Weston” on the front. Go all the way up the stairs and a cutscene automatically plays.
Own Up to It or Conceal the Truth

After confronting Daniel, you’re given two choices. The game asks, “What would I do in his position?” You can select “Own Up to It” or “Conceal the Truth”.
If you pick “Own Up to It”, your character tells Daniel to try and move past it. Daniel is willing to accept whatever consequences come his way.
If you pick “Conceal the Truth”, your character says it’s fine as long as Daniel makes it right. He tells Daniel that sometimes honesty isn’t the best policy. Daniel agrees to return the money and stay quiet. He plans on learning from this experience.
