In this Legend Of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak Blacking Out Blackmail Quest guide, we’re walking you through how to find Giacomo’s hidden journal. This is a semi-required quest in Edith during Chapter 2 given to you by Jess. He wants you to get rid of Giacomo’s book, which has incriminating evidence against Jess written inside.
Beginning the Blacking Out Blackmail Quest
The Blacking Out Blackmail quest can be picked up from the bulletin board in the Old Town District. Meet with the client at Caiyunge in the Tyrell District. To find him, fast travel to the McMillion Cafe in the Tyrell District. Exit the cafe and go up the street, keeping to the right of the brick building straight ahead. Go into the building that has the red diamond sign on it. Go up the stairs and speak to the client, who is wearing a gray jacket and sitting alone in the middle of the restaurant.
After speaking with him, you can “Hold Off” or “Accept” the quest. Accept the quest if you are ready to begin.
Go to Giacomo’s Hideouts In Blacking Out Blackmail Quest
After speaking with the client, your new objective is to search Giacomo’s hideout. Fast travel to the Subway Service Path- Midpoint in the Riverside District. Go to the first door on the right. Once inside, you’ll have to talk to the inspector. After the cutscene ends, there will be multiple items to examine. Go to the taco poster on the right side of the room. The party realizes the poster is from a taco stand Giacomo frequents and there is a code written on the back.
Connecting the Dots
Next, fast travel to Station Street, Underground Ruins- Depths. Investigate the odd-looking brick in the wall on the right. The party discovers writing on the back.
After doing this, fast travel to the Subway Entrance in the Riverside District. From there, go straight and then turn right. Head down the stairs and continue straight. Stop at the orange stand on the right and talk to Gordon.
The group realizes that the menu is the key to deciphering the code. There are three options to pick from.
- Horizon
- Zesty Red Green Fiery Pulled Beef Shrimp
- Taco
Select “Horizon” to get 2 extra SP.
Gordon tells them that Horizon reminds him of the apartments across the river called Horizon Helm.
Go to Horizon Helm
From the taco stand, go up the set of straight on your right. Turn right and go across the bridge. Turn right again and go around the green car to get to the front door of Horizon Helm. The group finds the journal in the mailbox outside. Once you’ve found the journal, return to Jess at Caiyunge in the Tyrell District and speak to him.
You are rewarded with 2,500 Mira.
