How to Use Emotes on Nurikabe Walls

Nurikabe are enemies disguised as walls. They look at you with curious eyes, but they do not attack. Fighting them is a bad idea, as they are quite strong. The trick to getting past Nioh 3 Nurikabe walls is to use emotes.

When you come across a Nurikabe wall, check your surroundings for a Bloody Grave. Interact with the Bloody Grave and carefully read the text and the colored words. The color hints at the Nioh 3 Emote button you must not use. For example, if the colored words are red, you must not use red emotes. In this instance, select a blue or yellow emote, and see how the wall reacts. If the eyes glow red, you used the wrong emote color. The wall will give you one more chance to get it right. Select another emote color and the Nurikabe will let you pass.

How to Use Emotes on Nioh 3 Mujina Chests

Mujina are enemies disguised as chests. To obtain the valuables inside, you must defeat them in combat or perform the right emote. Similar to Nurikabe walls, Mujina are strong enemies that can be charmed using emotes.

Open the chest and the enemy will pop out. They will mimic your appearance and perform an emote. Use the same emote and they will let you loot the chest. Should you perform the wrong emote or take too long to react, the Mujina will attack you.
