In the vast world of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, players are immersed in a captivating narrative filled with intriguing subplots. One such substory that unfolds during Chapter 3 is “Samurai, May We Walk Together?”
SUBSTORY LOCATION
As you venture through the game, you will come across West Aloha Beach, a picturesque location where the Samurai, May We Walk Together? substory takes place. This substory becomes accessible after unlocking Poundmates (summons) during the main story. However, be cautious of high-level enemies in the area if you choose to tackle this substory right away.
ENCOUNTERING THE HARASSERS
Upon reaching the substory marker on West Aloha Beach, an event is triggered, drawing Ichiban’s attention to a troubling situation. He encounters a couple of harassers targeting a woman. It’s up to Ichiban to intervene and put a stop to their malicious intentions. Successfully overcoming this initial challenge sets the stage for the substory‘s unfolding.
NATHAN’S REQUEST FOR HELP
Following the encounter with the harassers, Ichiban catches the attention of Nathan, an American man with a passion, albeit somewhat skewed, for Japan. Nathan reaches out to Ichiban, seeking assistance with his struggling TV show. As a player, you have the choice to accept his request and embark on an exciting collaboration.
THE CHOICES
Throughout Samurai, May We Walk Together?, you will be presented with various scenarios and choices that shape the outcome of the substory. While Ichiban yearns to explore the wonders of Hawaii, the options that align with Nathan’s perception of Japanese culture will yield stat boosts. However, regardless of your choices, the substory will progress, offering a unique and engaging experience.
CHOOSING A MEAL
During the substory, you will be asked to select a meal from three options: Mahi Mahi, Kalua Pig, or Cold rice and Japanese barn millet. Opting for the cold rice dish, despite being different from the traditional Hawaiian choices, aligns with Nathan’s expectations and earns Ichiban a boost in his Friendship stat.
CHOOSING HOW TO KEEP DRY
As rain interrupts Ichiban and Nathan’s conversation, the two seek shelter until it passes. Nathan presents Ichiban with an umbrella and a fukaamigasa hat, prompting Ichiban to choose one. Opting for the fukaamigasa hat, a traditional Japanese headgear, not only delights the film crew but also enhances Ichiban’s Friendship stat.
CHOOSING DARTS
As the substory progresses, Ichiban and the crew find themselves at a hotel bar, where a final segment awaits. Ichiban is pitted against a skilled opponent named Marilyn in a game of darts. Unlike previous choices, this segment does not require any player input and unfolds naturally within the substory.
DEFENDING NATHAN
As the substory reaches its climax, Ichiban must protect Nathan from a group of assailants. By successfully fending off the attackers, Ichiban not only ensures Nathan’s safety but also brings the substory to a satisfying conclusion.
SUBSTORY REWARDS
Completing Samurai, May We Walk Together? offers both intrinsic and tangible rewards for Ichiban. Choosing the options that align with Nathan’s perception of Japanese culture provides stat boosts to Ichiban’s Confidence and Kindness Personality attributes. Additionally, players are awarded 2 Bright Yellow Sweets, consumables that heal both HP and MP. Furthermore, Nathan becomes available as a Poundmate on the Poundmates app, adding a valuable ally to Ichiban’s roster.
