Saros Carcosan Modifiers are difficulty modifiers that allow you to tweak the gameplay experience. They are essentially a series of buffs and debuffs that make the game easier or harder.
Let’s see how this system works!
How Saros Carcosan Modifiers Work
You will unlock this Saros difficulty system after dying an unspecified number of times. The game adjusts based on your performance. Some players unlocked it before the first boss, while others gained access to it after defeating the second boss. Maxing out the skill tree seems to be another requirement.

How to Use Saros Difficulty Mods
Open the Primary menu and navigate to the Carcosan Modifiers tab. Notice the gauge and the two modifier categories: Protections and Trials. Protection modifiers make the game easier, while Trial modifiers make the game more challenging. For each selected modifier, Protection or Trial, the pointer moves left or right. Notice how the gauge value changes when you select modifiers. Protection modifiers decrease the value, while Trial modifiers increase it.
Keep the dial in the middle section for a balanced experience.

How To Increase Saros Game Difficulty
You can increase the game’s difficulty by adding more Trial modifiers. There’s no upper limit for Trials, meaning that you can make the game as difficult as you like.

How To Decrease The Overall Difficulty
Notice that if the gauge goes beyond a certain value, you cannot activate the selection. This is a default setting that doesn’t allow you to make the game too easy.
If you want to significantly lower the game difficulty, open the Settings menu and navigate to the Gameplay tab.

Toggle the Unlimited Protection Modifier setting on and you will be able to use as many Protections as you want.
Saros Carcosan Modifiers Settings
