Palworld Chromite is one of the crafting materials needed to make Hexolite. Chromite is harvested from the environment, but you must use a special item or a certain Pal to reveal it.

How to Get Palworld Chromite
Chromite nodes can be found on Feybreak Island. To reveal the hidden ores and harvest the resource, you need a Metal Detector or a Smokie creature.
How to Harvest Chromite
The Metal Detector is a weapon that lets you detect nearby hidden ores. Smokie’s dig ability reveals nearby Chromite nodes. This Pal also increases Chromite acquisition by 100%. The recommendation is to use Smokie to gather the resource. You can find Smokie creatures in the Curved Redrock area.
To be able to use Smokie’s partner ability, you need their harness. Unlock the harness in the Technology Tree at level 58 and craft it at the Pal Gear bench using:
- Fiber x 50.
- Paladium Fragment x 40.
- Leather x 20.
- Dark Fragment x 5.
Once you have Smokie, head to the Scorched Hill area on Feybreak Island. Press F to use Smokie’s partner ability to reveal nearby Chromite nodes and harvest them with a Plasma Multicutter.
If you’d rather use the Metal Detector to farm Palworld Chromite, you should first learn how it works. Unlike Smokie’s ability that instantly digs up nearby Chromite nodes, the Metal Detector produces signals that grow in intensity as you get closer to an ore node. You’ll have to run around and pay attention to the pings to determine the ore location. Once you are close enough, the node will pop out.
You unlock the Metal Detector at level 58 and craft it at the Production Assembly Line II using:
- Paladium Fragments x 100.
- Plasteel x 30.
- Nighstar Sand x 20.
- Computer x 15.
