This Elite Squads Locations guide shows you where to find all Shinobi Art of Vengeance elite encounters. Defeating all Elite Squads unlocks the Oboro Clan Avenged trophy achievement.
Most maps and area stages feature a total of 3 Elite Squads to find and defeat and upon doing so, you will be rewarded with certain rewards. Ranging from Lab Keys, increased Kunai slots and more..
Keep in mind that, for some, elite squads location you will need to unlock additional abilities first, before being able to unlock them. I did a return visit to all previous stages after completing Kaiju

Shinobi Art of Vengeance Elite Squads Locations
In Shinobi Art Of Vengeance Elite Squads show up as hidden icons you can destroy. Upon doing so you will instantly trigger a 3-phase combat fight against various enemy encounters. Most of which you will have faced before but you will be locked in the area and vastly out numbered
Oboro Village Elite Squad Locations
Elite Squad 1 – Antechamber
Above the Antechamber checkpoint, to the left.
Elite Squad 2 – Collapsed Bridge
To the left of the Collapsed Bridge checkpoint.
Lantern Festival Elite Squad Locations
Elite Squad 1 – Island
In the Secret Cave area, accessible by breaking the barrier next to the Island checkpoint.
Elite Squad 2 – Rooftops
Right under the Rooftops checkpoint.
Elite Squad 3 – Rooftops
In the purple area, to the right of the Rooftops checkpoint.
Elite Squads Locations in The Mountain
Elite Squad 1 – Waterfalls
Immediately to the right of the Waterfalls checkpoint.
Elite Squad 2 – Foundry
To the left of the Foundry checkpoint.
Elite Squad 3 – Excavation Site
On the upper platform in the purple area, to the right of the Excavation Site checkpoint.
Neo City
Elite Squad 1 – City Entrance
On the platform to the right of the starting point. City Entrance
Elite Squad 2 – East District
On the upper side of the purple area, to the right of the East District checkpoint.
Elite Squad 3 – West District
On the lower platform to the left of the Ankou Rift. West District
Fish Market
Elite Squad 1 – Octo Sign
Right of the Octo Sign checkpoint.
Elite Squad 2 – Storage
In the purple area right above the Storage checkpoint.
Elite Squad 3 – Freight
Right of the Freight checkpoint.
Submarine Base Elite Squads
Elite Squad 1 – Floor B2
Right of the Floor B2 checkpoint.
Elite Squad 2 – Floor B1
On the leftmost side, in the purple area. By Floor B1
Elite Squad 3 – Flooded Sector
Left of the checkpoint. By Flooded Sector. This will require you to unlock the door first, which can be accessed through a platforming maze on Floor B3. We can also find a relic here too
The Desert
Elite Squad 1 – Crevasse
Left and up from the Crevasse checkpoint.
Elite Squad 2 – Air Shaft
Above the Air Shaft checkpoint, a bit to the left.
Elite Squad 3 – Astral Ruins
Right of the Astral Ruins checkpoint.
Mad Train
Elite Squad 1 – Freight Cars
To the right of the Freight Cars checkpoint, on the fifth train car.
Elite Squad 2 – Convoy
To the right of the Convoy checkpoint.
Elite Squad 3 – Armored Cars
A few steps to right of the Armored Cars checkpoint.
ENE Corp Laboratory
Elite Squad 1 – West Control Center
On the lowest platform, below the West Control Center checkpoint.
Elite Squad 2 – West Lab
Below the purple area, to the left of the West Lab checkpoint.
Elite Squad 3 – East Control Center
On the platform under the East Control Center checkpoint.
The Kaiju
Elite Squad 1 – Lungs
On the bottom platform, to the right of the Lungs checkpoint.
Elite Squad 2 – Second Stomach
To the left of the Second Stomach checkpoint.
Elite Squad 3 – Second Stomach
In the lower purple area, left of the Second Stomach checkpoint.
The Assault Elite Squads Locations
Elite Squad 1 – The Battlefield
To the right of the starting location. The Battlefield
Elite Squad 2 – The Secret Bunker
To the right of the Secret Bunker checkpoint. Before the bridge, leading to the Castle. Search for a part of the floor you can destroy. This leads to the Secret Bunker. From there complete the platforming maze
Elite Squad 3 – Throne Room
In the bottom purple area to the left of the Throne Room checkpoint.
