In order to play with friends in Slay the Spire 2, here’s what you need to do:

Sign in on Steam
Make sure you’re friends with your friends on Steam.
Launch the game
In the main lobby, select Multiplayer
Host or join lobby (if you’re hosting the lobby, you can invite your friend by tapping “Invite” on the left side of the screen)
Select your character and begin the game

How Multiplayer works in Slay the Spire 2

In essence, Slay the Spire 2 features coop that allows you to team up with your friends to defeat enemies and bosses. Does that makes every each easier? Yes and no. By having multiplayer feature, you can synergize with your friends to deal devastating combos, or protect each other. However, take note as well as the enemies get tankier as well. Here’s what happens during a multiplayer game in Slay the Spire 2.

Up to four players can play together. Players will share the same team, map and enemy debuffs but have their own sets of decks, relics and potions.
You can select any characters and can choose the same characters as your teammate.
You can use pen to draw on the map, and this will appear on their map.
Enemies have larger HP the more players there are in the game.
When opening a chest, multiple relics will appear. Each player should choose a different relic. If two players pick the same one, it will trigger a rock-paper-scissors minigame to decide who gets it.
In a campfire, you can heal each other.
Multi player exclusive cards exist.
