The best Ancient Relics to get in Slay the Spire 2

Slay the Spire 2

Slay the Spire 2 will keep players thinking, often making them second-guess their decisions as a run progresses. Over time, these choices become increasingly difficult. But before starting each act, players receive boons from different Ancients. In Slay the Spire 2, Ancients are mysterious entities, and the eight of them are spread across three acts.

Here’s a list of all Ancient Relics worth getting in Slay the Spire 2.

Best Ancient Relics in Slay the Spire 2

Slay the Spire 2 has a total of eight Ancients in the game: Neow, Tezcatara, Orobas, Pael, Vakuu, Nonupeipe, Tanx and Darv. These Ancients will appear at the beginning of each Act in Slay the Spire 2. Here are the best Ancient Relics to get and why.

Act 1 – Neow Slay The Spire Ancient Relics

  • Cursed Pearl: This relic provides 333 Gold upfront at the cost of receiving a Curse card. Visit a shop early on to gain an early upper hand. You can mitigate the downsides of Greed by using transform, discard, and exhaust cards.
  • Leafy Poultice: Gets rid of two basic cards and replaces them with cards that can be potentially good.
  • Scroll Boxes: Can potentially be good if at least two good cards are obtained in a pack.
  • Silver Crucible: Allows you to get three upgraded cards. This can be extremely good if you get good cards. Nevertheless, you have the option to skip.
  • Golden Pearl: Gives you 150 Gold, half of what Cursed Pearl can offer. But unlike the latter, this has no drawbacks.
  • Lava Rock: Can be a massive upgrade if you’re confident you can finish Act 1 without early power-ups from Ancient Relics.

Act 2 – Tezcatara Slay The Spire 2 Best Relics

  • Very Hot Cocoa – Starting each combat with an additional 4 energy can be a gamechanger, especially if you have Bags of Preparation.
  • Storybook: Has a potential to save your run.
  • Pumpkin Candle: Gives you additional energy at the start of each turn. Effective only during Act 2.
  • Toy Box: Has the potential to be good if you get 4 good relics.

Act 2- Orobas Slay The Spire 2 Best Ancient Relics

  • Electric Shrymp: Extremely good if you have a strong card you’d want to use at the start of each combat for setup. Since it is played for free, it can also be used for 3+ cost cards.
  • Glass Eye: Gives you a total of 5 cards to choose from
  • Prismatic Gem: Gives you 1 more energy per turn. You can also gain cards from other colors.
  • Alchemical Coffer: One of the best relics that you could have, especially if you have potion belt relic.

Pael

  • Pael’s Flesh: Gives you one additional energy starting from the third turn onward. Good for longer fights.
  • Pael’s Tears: Gives you two energy if you end your turn with unspent energy. Especially good when paired with Ice Cream relic.
  • Pael’s Wing: Gives you a relic by sacrificing two card rewards. Especially good since it allows you to sacrifice them instead of skipping them.

Vakuu

  • Distinguished Cape: You lose 9 Max HP, but gain 3 Apparitions. Apparition cards grant 1 Intangible, causing you to take only 1 damage per attack during that turn.

Nonupeipe

  • Delicate Frond: Delicate Frond pairs really well with Potion Belt.
  • Diamond Diadem: Whenever you play 2 or fewer cards in a turn, take half damage from enemies on their next turn.
  • Fur Coat: Can be potentially great if it marks multiple elite rooms on a single path.
  • Glitter: If you manage to get good cards, this can be an exceptional upgrade, as it adds replay to the next cards you’ll get during Act 3.
  • Signet Ring: Gives you a whopping 999 Gold with zero downsides.

Tanx

  • Meat Cleaver: Adds 9 Max HP at rest sites and allows you to remove 2 cards. This not only makes you tankier, but also lets you make your deck thinner.
  • Throwing Axe: The first card you play each combat is played an extra time.

Darv

  • Black Star: Gives you one additional relic after defeating elites.
  • Runic Pyramid: At the end of your turn, you no longer discard your hand.
  • Pandora’s Box: Transforms all of your Strikes and Defends. (Make sure you have enough blocks)
  • Dusty Tome: Gives you an upgraded Ancient Card. Sealed Throne and Forbidden Grimoire are the best rewards.
