Slay the Spire 2 Wood Carvings event – Bird, Snake or Torus?

Slay the Spire 2

Wood Carvings is an Act 1 Slay The Spire 2 event that appears in Unknown Rooms. Unlike other Unknown Room events that can give negative effects, Wood Carvings has none. In fact, it can be a huge upgrade to your deck if you choose the best option.

Here’s what Wood Carvings offers and what you should pick.

Wood Carvings event in STS 2 – Should you get Bird, Snake or Torus?

In this Slay the Spire 2 Wood Carvings event guide, we’ll discuss everything you need to know about these three options, their pros and cons and whether you should get them. Note that all of these options are good, but of course, you’ll want to have the best choice for your deck.

Bird

Bird: Choose 1 started card to Transform into Peck.

When picked, you’ll get to select among your strike and defend cards and transform it into Peck.

Peck is a 1-cost colorless card that deals 2 damage 3 times, for a total of six. If upgraded, you’ll get to damage four times.

Out of all three options, this is the weakest. The damage it deals is not that far from what strike cards can deal. However, it has a upper hand in several situations where you can inflict multiple attacks, for example, to shred Slippery status.

Snake

Snake: Enchant 1 card with Slither

If your deck has the right cards, Snake can easily be the best option from this event.

This option lets you enchant any card in your current deck with Slither. When an enchanted card is drawn, its cost is randomized from 0 to 3. Slither can be a game-changer but only when used correctly.

Because the enchantment randomizes cost, it’s especially strong on cards that cost 3 or more. For example, if a 4-cost card like Bury is enchanted with Slither, its cost will always be reduced by at least 1. With some luck, it can even drop to 0, making it completely free to play.

While it’s possible to enchant a 1-cost card in hopes of turning it into a 0-cost, it’s generally not as valuable.

Torus

Torus: Choose 1 starter card and transform it into Toric Toughness.

Since defensive cards are also important, Torus can be a valuable option. When used, it grants 5 Block per turn for the next two turns. Like Peck, this replaces a basic card. Overall, it provides a total of 15 Block across three turns for a cost of 2, making it quite efficient.

Overall, this is the safest option in the Slay the Spire 2 Wood Carvings event, especially with Dexterity buffs if you’re not dealing with Vantom’s Slippery status or if your deck lacks strong 3+ cost cards.
