How to Beat Slay the Spire 2 Soul Fysh boss

Slay the Spire 2

Soul Fysh is one of the many Act 1 boss encounters in Slay the Spire 2. It’s an underdocks boss that will inflict debuffs and give status cards, on top of some damage.

Here’s how to defeat the Soul Fysh in Slay the Spire 2.

How to Defeat Soul Fysh in Slay the Spire 2?

Soul Fysh is a 211‑HP boss from Act 1 Underdocks. It’s a large enemy that follows a consistent five‑attack cycle.

  1. Shuffles 2 Beckon status cards into your deck (1 draw pile, 1 discard pile)
  2. Deal 16 damage
  3. Deal 7 damage. Shuffle 1 beckon to your discard pile.
  4. Gains 2 Intangible
  5. Deal 11 damage. Applies 3 Vulnerable.

For this fight, Soul Fysh will try to prolong the fight by using Intangible, and Beckon.

Intangible is a buff that reduces all damage taken and HP loss to 1 for the player or enemy. Soul Fysh will have two turns per cycle with Intangible. During this phase, avoid using high‑energy, high‑damage cards, as their effect will be largely wasted.

Next is the Beckon status card. Beckon is a playable card that makes you lose 6 HP if it remains in your hand at the end of your turn. Its damage is unblockable, so it’s usually best to either exhaust it early, discard it or play it.

During the fifth turn, Soul Fysh will also apply 3 Vulnerable. This particular ability makes you receive 50% more damage.

Here are some good tips to defeat Soul Fysh:

  • Try to remove Beckon cards by playing them (uses an energy), exhausting them with cards such as Burning Pact, or potions, or transform them.
  • Don’t use high-energy attacks during Intangible.
  • Try to finish the fight as soon as possible, otherwise your deck will be filled with Beckons.
  • Try to block during Vulnerable turns if you can’t finish it off during that turn.
