All Slay the Spire 2 Ascensions guide

Slay the Spire 2

Slay the Spire 2 has three acts, and after completing them all and meeting The Architect, Ascensions are unlocked. Ascensions are a series of modifiers that can make each run significantly harder by strengthening enemies, adding debuffs, and introducing curses.

Here’s everything to know about Slay the Spire 2 Ascensions, including all levels, modifiers, and how to unlock them.

How to unlock ascensions in STS 2?

All players start with zero modifiers, and in order to unlock the first Ascension, they must first defeat the Act 3 boss, such as The Queen, The Test Subject or the Doormaker. After that, they must defeat the Act 3 boss again to advance to the next Ascension.

Note that any Ascension level can be selected as long as it has already been unlocked.

Ascension levels for single-player and multiplayer are separate. Unlocking Ascension 4 in multiplayer does not automatically unlock Ascensions in solo if no Ascensions have been unlocked in single-player.

Solo

For solo runs, each character’s Ascension progress is tracked separately. For example, Ascensions for Necrobinder still need to be unlocked even if Ascension 10 has already been reached on Ironclad.

Multiplayer

This works differently in multiplayer. In multiplayer, Ascension progress is shared across all characters. This means that if Ascension 10 is reached with Necrobinder, Ascension 10 can also be played immediately with Ironclad and other characters.
