Tactical Objectives are optional missions in Helldivers 2 that can be found scattered across the map. Each Mission’s map has between 1 and 4 Tactical Objectives, with there being a total of 11 different types. Completing these quests gives you experience and the Requisition currency. Additionally, completing ten of them gives you the “They don’t call it Tacticool for nothin” achievement.

Every Tactical Objective in Helldivers II
Each of the Tactical Objectives in the game are outlined below in alphabetical order. You’ll come across some of them only on Terminid planets, a few of the others in the worlds assaulted by Automatons, and you’ll find the rest scattered across planets of all kinds.
Anti-Air Emplacement Jamming
When fighting against the Automatons, your squad may come across an Anti-Air Tactical Objective. Begin the Tactical Objective by using the Terminal to deactivate the Anti-Air turrets, Afterward, you will have a small window of time to call in a destructive Stratagem, like a Hellbomb, and destroy the Anti-Air turrets before they reactivate. This prevents the Automatons from using the Anti-Air turrets against your squad.
Destroy Rogue Research Center
This is one of the simplest Tactical Objectives in Helldivers 2. The easiest way to destroy the buildings is by summoning destructive Stratagems directly on top of them, like the Hellbomb.
Destroy Stalker Lair
Stalkers are a dangerous form of Terminid that have their own special hives. Find one of these hives to get the Tactical Objective “Destroy Stalker Lair”. Just like with any other hive, destroy the Stalker Lair by blowing up the tunnels the Stalkers emerge from. We cover this Tactical Objective in more depth on our Helldivers II hidden achievements guide.
Detector Tower
Like Research Centers, the goal is to destroy the Detector Tower using a Stratagem. Getting close to the tower allows you to use the Hellbomb Stratagem, but Orbital or Eagle Stratagems should be able to take it out as well. If the tower is not destroyed, Automatons will be able to spot you from further away and send troops to your location. Destroy it to keep your squad’s location more secure.
Mortar Emplacement
This Tactical Objective can only be completed on planets with Automaton. To complete it, you’ll need to destroy the Automaton’s Mortar Emplacements in the designated area. This will prevent the Automaton’s from using the artillery weapons against your squad.
Radar Station
Begin this Tactical Objective by activating the Radar Station using the terminal at the site. Follow the instructions on the screen and allow the terminal to load. Once the steps on the terminal have been completed, you’ll be prompted to “Align the Radar Tower”. The image on the terminal shows the direction the radar tower needs to be facing. Having one person on the terminal and a separate person rotating the tower is the easiest, but both can be done by the same person. Activate the tower on the terminal after aligning it to complete the Tactical Objective. This reveals the entire map to your squad.
SEAF Artillery
Begin the SEAF Artilley Tactical Objective by activating the Artilley Terminal near the weapon. After activating it, search the nearby area for the weapon’s ammo shells. Carry each one to the empty compartment in the Artilley Gun and insert them to load it. Once the Artillery Gun is loaded, return to the terminal to connect the gun to the nearby Super Destroyer. This will allow you to use the SEAF Artillery Stratagem.
When loading the Artillery Gun, keep in mind that there are four different kinds of bullets that can be placed into it.
- Red Bullets – Explosive bullets that do a lot of damage upon impact.
- Blue Bullets – Bullets that do less damage than the red and ignore enemy armor. After impact, the blast area will contain an electrical field that slows and stuns everything in it.
- Yellow Bullets type 1 – These bullets do the least damage of the main three, and leave a smoke screen in the area of the blast.
- Yellow Bullets type 2 – Each SEAF Artillery site has a chance for one of the bullets to be a yellow Nuke bullet rather than a smoke screen. These are the most destructive, so you’ll want to be cautious and examine yellow-colored shells to determine if it is a smoke screen or a nuke.
These bullets will be used in the SEAF Artillery Stratagem in the same order that they were placed into it. You’ll want to remember what the order was when using the SEAF Artillery Stratagem against the enemies of Super Earth.
SEAF SAM-Site
If you find an SEAF SAM-Site, begin by activating the site’s Terminal. Use the Terminal to raise the Surface-to-Air Launcher, protecting it from any incoming enemies. With the launcher raised we can then activate the sub-systems by using the Terminal. Doing this will fully activate the Launcher and allow it to fire on your enemies.
Spore Spewer
The Spore Spewer Tactical Objective is only found on Terminid-infested planet. Destroy the large mushroom that is spewing spores around to complete the Tactical Objective and remove the clouds of spores from the vicinity of the mushroom.
Stratagem Jammer
While the Stratagem Jammer is active, you’ll be unable to use your Stratagems. To destroy it, begin by logging into the Jammer’s Terminal. Turn the Terminal on, enter the code, and press the button to deactivate the Stratagem Jammer. Protect the area while the jammer deactivates. Once the deactivation is complete, you can use your Stratagems as you usually do.
Upload Escape Pod Data
For this Tactical Objective, you need to take the data from an escape pod and upload it using the quest-specific Upload Data Stratagem. To use the Stratagem, hold the Control key and press keys in the order “ADWWW”. Once initiated your next task will be to protect the area and wait until the data uploads
