(BG3) Baldur’s Gate III – Gale Romance All Dialogue / Outcomes

Baldur's Gate III Video Game Character Quotes

This page will be mainly focusing on the various companion character dialogue that occurs during the Gale Romance scene

The dialogue will include everything that is presented as a dialogue option, this also includes dialogue that occurs when you fail and win a die/dice roll too.

The page is currently done with only the Early Access currently being available, thus everything is subject to change. I will however, change this page to properly match the dialogue scene when the full version is released. For now enjoy what is said during the particular Early Access patch.

Anyway let us begin!

(NOTE: This was all taken from the Early Access phase of the game)

You can check out my other pages on the various companion and party dialogue below

GALE ROMANCE SCENE

GALE TALKS ABOUT THE GOD KARSUS

GALE COMMENTS ON ROMANCE OPTIONS

  • GALE: I love this time of night. There’s an almost reverent silence that accompanies the peak of darkness, when you’d almost believe the dawn will never break
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 1A): Is that from ‘the art of the night?’
  • GALE (REPLY 1A): The observation is my own, but I like to think it’s a feeling shared by many. The timelessness of lovers. That most beautiful of fantasies.
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 1B): I love this time of night as well
  • GALE (REPLY 1B): You understand it then; The timelessness of lovers. That most beautiful of fantasies.
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 1C): That sounds rather ominous, does it not?
  • GALE (REPLY 1C): I think there is a certain magic in it. The timelessness of lovers. That most beautiful of fantasies.
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 2D): I’m sorry, but I actually don’t think I can do this. I’m just not in the mood.
  • GALE (REPLY 2D): Not even a simple kiss would change your mind?
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 2D): No, it wouldn’t
  • GALE (REPLY 2D): What a pity. One should never be afraid to live life to the fullest. Before we part.. I know there are many things about me that remain shrouded in mystery. You’ve been very patient with me, and I appreciate that. You’ve brought me back from the grey shores of death. You know of my condition, and you know about my unfortunate efforts to win Mystra’s favour, but those are but the broad strokes. The time has come to paint you the true picture. So come find me another night, yes? No kisses, just words. (Leaves)
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 1C): That sounds rather ominous, does it not?
  • GALE (REPLY 1C): I think there is a certain magic in it. The timelessness of lovers. That most beautiful of fantasies.
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 2A): Right here, right now, it’s real.
  • GALE (REPLY 2A): Almost
  • (The pair begin to kiss)
  • GALE: Now it’s real
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 3C): Actually it all starts to feel a bit too real
  • GALE (REPLY 3C): Isn’t that what tonight is all about?
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 4A): You’re right, this is a night to cherish. Let’s be together.
  • GALE (REPLY 4A): So promising a phrase
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 3A): You taste of spiced wine
  • GALE (REPLY 3A): You taste of untold delights. How about we continue our tasting?
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 5C): Maybe a kiss was enough
  • GALE (REPLY 5C): Are you sure? One kiss is like one chord in an entire symphony. It begs for more.
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 3A): You’re a good kisser.
  • GALE (REPLY 3A): I’m of the opinion one should try to excel at everything. How about we move on to everything?
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 2B): I can think of a few things more beautiful
  • GALE (REPLY 2B): More beautiful than this?
  • (The pair begin to kiss)
  • GALE (REPLY 2B): There we have it. Beauty
  • GALE: Good morning. Looks like the dawn broke after all. So much for the timelessness of lovers. It’s all right. You look even more beautiful in the light
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 1C): The dawn broke indeed. Time to go
  • GALE (REPLY 1A): Hold on, hold on. Please – not so hasty. I know we have to get moving again soon, but before we part, I’d like to tell you something. I’d like to tell you a story
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 2C): I wasn’t here for a story, I was here for sex.
  • GALE (REPLY 2C): Consider it a bonus. It is a story full of answers long overdue. It is a story of a man who fell in love with a goddess.
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 1B): Thank you for a wonderful night.
  • GALE (REPLY 1B): Like I said; I try to excel at everything.
  • GALE: It is a story full of answers long overdue. It is a story of a man who fell in love with a goddess.
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 2B): Really? That’s what you want to do right now?
  • GALE (REPLY 2B): I owe you as much.
  • GALE: You look even more beautiful in the light
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 1A): So do you
  • GALE (REPLY 1A): I’m sure I do
  • GALE: It is a story of a man who fell in love with a goddess.
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 2A): That sounds lovely
  • GALE (REPLY 2A): I hope it will be lovely still by the time we reach the end.
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 3E): Wait. You’re really about to tell me about another lover? What’s wrong with you?
  • GALE (REPLY 3E): I couldn’t do it before. I couldn’t ruin the chance for us to happen. You were there. How could I say no to you?
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 4C): Just get out of here, Gale
  • GALE (REPLY 4C): Please just listen. You can judge me after you have heard my story – that much I certainly deserve.
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 5C): I said leave. Now leave
  • GALE (REPLY 5C): I am sorry that it had to come to this. All that is left to say is farewell. Farewell. (Leaves)
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 4B): And how can I trust you after this?
  • GALE (REPLY 4B): Please just listen. You can judge me after you have heard my story – that much I certainly deserve.
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (5B): Just tell me and get it over with
  • GALE (REPLY 5B): Very well. The plain version it is. I am what one might call a wizard prodigy, who from an early age could not only control the Weave, but compose it like a virtuoso.
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 4A): When you put it like that – no one can say no to me.
  • GALE (REPLY 4A): After all, even I am only human (Gale Approves)
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 6C): You’re a human I don’t think I want to have around any more
  • GALE: Please just listen. You can judge me after you have heard my story – that much I certainly deserve.
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 5A): In that case I will listen to your story and reserve my judgement for now
  • GALE (REPLY 5A): Thank you. Here we go. Once upon a time, not quite that long ago, there lived a wizard in a tower.
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 3D): Just tell me what’s really going on, would you?
  • GALE (REPLY 3D): Please – a bit of narrative distance will make it all so much easier in the telling. Indulge me.
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 3B): It’s clear as day you are talking about yourself, you know
  • GALE (REPLY 3B): I know, but a a bit of narrative distance will make it all so much easier in the telling. Indulge me.
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 3A): Very well, I’ll play along. Regale me, Gale.
  • GALE (REPLY 3A): Thank you. Once upon a time, not quite that long ago, there lived a wizard in a tower. The wizard was what one might call a prodigy, who from an early age could not only control the Weave, but compose it, like a musician or a poet. Such was his skill that it earned him the attention of the mother of magic herself. The Lady Of Mysteries, Mystra.
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 1C): Teacher’s pet, was he?
  • GALE (REPLY 1C): He fancied himself much more than that. He fancied himself favoured above all others. Perhaps it was not quite love, but you see, the wizard was but a very young man. It was most certainly love to him.
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 1B): He sounds like a very talented individual
  • GALE (REPLY 1B): He was. Even though it was in Mystra’s affections that his true power lay.
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 1A): What did Mystra’s attention feel like?
  • GALE (REPLY 1A): Love. Perhaps it was not quite love, but you see, the wizard was but a very young man. It was most certainly love to him. Mystra showed him the secrets behind the veils. The gossamer veils first, draped across the Weave. The delicate veils next, draped across her body. ‘Chosen One’ she whispered, as she slipped them off completely.
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 2D): So much fun to hear about previous lovers the morning after having slept together
  • GALE (REPLY 2D): If it makes you feel any better, the affair didn’t last very long. One day all too soon, the whispers stopped. The goddess spurned the mortal. The veils were drawn once more, and the wizard was left behind heartbroken.
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (2C): Finally the story is getting interesting
  • GALE (REPLY 2C): Alas it was Mystra’s interest that didn’t last.
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (2B): The veils draped across the Weave?
  • GALE (REPLY 2B): Indeed. What most wizards perceive is but the ripple of the Weave’s surface. Untold wonders lie beyond. I enjoyed them for a while, as we enjoyed each other.
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 2A): Are you telling me the wizard made love to a goddess?
  • GALE (REPLY 2A): Yes. Until one day all too soon, the whispers stopped. The goddess spurned the mortal. The veils were drawn once more, and the wizard was left behind heartbroken.
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 3D): Perhaps she, like you, had other lovers she didn’t tell him about.
  • GALE (REPLY 3D): She might well have had, but that didn’t stop the wizard from trying to reclaim her affections. Like so many of the heartbroken, he did something infinitely foolish. One has to think big if one seeks to win back a goddess. So the wizard thought big.
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 3C): I hate to say it, but he really could have seen this coming
  • GALE (REPLY 3C): He was blinded by love. Good stories are rife with lovers’ follies after all.
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 3A): Poor wizard
  • GALE (REPLY 3A): Poor wizard. Silly wizard too, for he wouldn’t take no for an answer
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 3B): What happened next?
  • GALE: Like so many of the heartbroken, he did something infinitely foolish. One has to think big if one seeks to win back a goddess. So the wizard thought big.
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 4C): Let me guess: he proposed?
  • GALE (REPLY 4C): In a manner of speaking. But it was something rather different than a ring he sought as a gift.
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 4B): I assume he did more than buy Mystra flowers?
  • GALE (REPLY 4B): In a word: yes.
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 4A): Define big
  • GALE (REPLY 4A): Here goes; once upon a time, very long ago, a mighty lord lived in a tower. A flying tower to be precise. I’ll save his story for another time, but the gist of it is that he sought to usurp the goddess of magic so that he could become a god himself. He almost managed but not quite, and his entire empire – Netheril – came crashing down around him as he turned to stone. The magic unleashed that day was phenomenal, rolling like the prime chaos that outdates creation. A fragment of it was caught and sealed away in a book. No ordinary book, mind you; a tome of gateways that contained within it a bubble of Astral Plane. It was a fragment of primal Weave locked out of time – locked away from Mystra herself. ‘What if’, the silly wizard thought. ‘What if after all this time, I could return this lost part of herself to the Goddess?
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 5C): And the wizard happened to have this book on hand?
  • GALE (REPLY 5C): So it goes with wizards of Waterdeep. It is a city filled with the most obscure arcana. He obtained the book and took it into his study. As for what happened next..
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 5B): That’s not thinking big, that’s thinking like a madman
  • GALE (REPLY 5B): The result was certainly maddening
  • PLAYER CHARACTER (OPTION 5A): What was the answer to his question?
  • GALE (REPLY 5A): The answer was to try, and the outcome was to fail
