Black Myth: Wukong How to Defeat Stone Monkey

Black Myth Wukong

In this Black Myth: Wukong How to Defeat Stone Monkey guide, we’re covering how to beat the final boss of the game. There are two forms to this boss, the Stone Money and The Great Sage’s Broken Shell, and each one has two phases. In this guide, we’re covering the attack pattern of both versions and how to defeat him.

The Stone Monkey Attack Pattern

How to defeat the final boss in Black Myth Wukong Stone Monkey

The Stone Monkey has about nine different attacks. During the first phase, his most basic attacks include jumping into the air and smashing the ground, raising his right leg and stomping on the ground, and grabbing you and slamming into the ground three to five times, sometimes following up with a stomp. All of these attacks can be dodged when you notice him jump, raise his leg, or move his right arm back. Try not to let him grab you. It won’t end well.

The Stone Monkey can also teleport. When he disappears, prepare to dodge since he will appear next to you shortly after. He also swipes his hands at you about three times, and you can dodge backward or away from whichever arm is swinging at you. The Stone Monkey will also charge an attack that makes his arm glow. He’ll hit the ground, creating a shockwave. He does this three times.

During the second phase, he’ll also punch the ground, but this time the shockwaves have flames. In an attack unique to phase two, he’ll glow and then disappear, releasing an explosion that creates a ring of fire. Keep your distance and jump over the ring. He also slams his fist into the ground seven times, releasing an AOE ice attack. Keep a medium distance to avoid being near the rings of ice. Lastly, he can create a clone, but it’s weaker than him and you have to defeat it.

The Great Sage’s Broken Shell’s Attack Pattern

The final boss takes on another form with two phases, The Great Sage’s Broken Shell. In the first phase, he has a few familiar attacks, like the ring of fire, but most are new. He wields a staff that he’ll throw at you, stab you with, and slam into the ground. All can be dodged when you see him getting ready to attack. He will also swing his staff towards the ground, kick three times, and then swing again. Dodge backward to avoid this combo.

In the second phase, he’ll swing an extended staff twice and then slam it into the ground. He has another swinging combo where he’ll swing his staff five times, try to stab you, and slam his staff into the ground. Dodge these. He can also extend his staff and perch on the top of it while throwing projectiles at you. If you keep enough distance, you can dodge these.

When he decides not to use his staff, he’ll use his legs and clones. He’ll try to knee you and then summon his clones to kick you. If he crouches, get away from him to dodge this. Lastly, he uses his cloud to grab you, throw you, and then pin you to the ground. If he’s on his cloud, that’s your cue to get ready to dodge.
