Crimson Desert

In Crimson Desert you are able to interact with animals and get them to become your pet companions. Getting a pet in Crimson Desert is fairly straightforward.

Keep reading to learn how to befriend pets and how to get them to be by your side.

How to Get Pets in Crimson Desert

The option to get and unlock pets is available after you make it to Hernand. There are cats and dogs that you are able to interact with. You might be wondering why you should bother gaining the trust of pets, but they are extremely useful in your gameplay.

Dogs will loot enemies after being summoned, letting you focus on other things. They will not attack enemies, but they can grab every piece of loot in the area since there are no loot filters.

However, only one pet can be active at a time, but you can have a maximum of 30 animals, provided that you manage to gain their trust first, which is the most important part.

Gaining Their Trust

An animal’s trust needs to be brought up to 100. Once it reaches 100, you’ll be able to have that animal as a companion. There are two major ways to gain the trust of pets in Crimson Desert.

  • Petting animals gives you 5 trust per pet and can be done five times a day, maxing out at 25. For dogs, approach them and use the prompt to pet them. Cats need to be held first and then carried as the royalty they are.
  • The other way to gain an animal’s trust is by feeding them, which can be done three times a day. Dogs can be fed tough meat (10+ gained) and fine meat (35+ gained. Cats can be fed bird meat (10+ gained), fish (10+ gained), and milk (10+).

If you keep up with feeding and petting them, you’ll have their trust in no time!
