Crystal of Atlan Puppeteer is one of the five base classes. It is a hybrid DPS/support class with strong AOE skills and a battle companion called Marionette. Let’s see what you must know about this class and its branching sub-classes!
Crystal of Atlan Puppeteer – How to Play
The base Puppeteer skill set includes:
- Waltz.
- Scythe Swipe.
- Serpent Chain.
- Runic Barrier.
- Rhapsody.
- Projection.
- Ultimate Blossoming.
Play Style and Rotation
Puppeteers and their Marionettes make a deadly pair. The combat minion can act as a guardian, taking the heat while the master gets out of harm’s way. Thanks to ranged attack skills, the Puppeteer continues to do damage from a safe distance.

AOE skills such as Waltz, Scythe Swipe, and Rhapsody allow this class to deal with several enemies at once. The goal is to round them up and use Ultimate Blossoming for massive AOE damage. Runic Barrier is a support skill that gives group-wide damage resistance.
Scytheguard or Blademaiden – Which Is the Best Crystal of Atlan Puppeteer Sub-Class?
At level 15, you can choose one of the two sub-classes (specializations): Scytheguard or Blademaiden. Before completing the Awakening quest, you’re free to experiment with both branches. Once you complete the quest, the specialization becomes permanent until you use a Soul Shard, a premium item that allows you to reset skills and class.
Scytheguard – AOE Damage and Support Skills

The Scytheguard retains the core play style of the base class with some support and utility skills. You will fight multiple enemies at the same time, while delivering healing and damage mitigation to your team. The play style is fast-paced and exciting. The specialization relies on New Moon and Full Moon stacks. Three New Moon stacks are consumed to receive a DPS boost, while three Full Moon stacks grant healing.
Blademaiden – Excels at One-Target Damage

Controlling the Marionette is a key aspect of the Blademaiden play style. You have to be extra careful with the positioning, as the puppet stays in place when it attacks. The Blademaiden will retreat to a safe distance and continue blasting with multi-target damage or focus on one enemy. This sub-class is better suited for boss fights.
When it comes to choosing between the Scytheguard and Blademaiden, the latter is the recommended choice. The Scytheguard is fun to play and it allows you to engage more enemies at a time, but the Blademaiden focuses on boss fights, which is what you will be doing at endgame.
