The Cost of Carelessness Side quest in Echoes of Aincrad can be unlocked during the Raid Call main quest. Keep in mind there is a trinket involved during this quest so once you grab that you’ll be able to continue with the quest which will take you to Tolbana.
How to Complete The Cost of Carelessness Side Quest
Before you can get to the actual quest, you need to grab the trinket. It’s found around the Elfa Maze Mountain Western Peak area. Approach and you’ll find the remains of someone. The remains belong to the brother of a farmer in Tolbana. He’s been eagerly awaiting news of his brother and now you can give him some (admittedly) terrible news of what happened to his brother.
Approach the Farmer and tell him about his brother. He wants you to get revenge for his brother, so go to the terminal and start the quest. Besides avenging the deceased, you’ll get a nice reward.
Go to the Teardrop Cave: Upper Chamber and follow the quest tracker. You need to find the Glenspore Grizzly at the end of the dungeon. This monster is the reason why the Farmer’s brother ended up dying in the first place.
This monster can swipe at you with fire and also use fire breath. It packs a punch when it hits you so brace yourself. Just make sure you dodge accordingly. Once you defeat the creature, go back to Tolbana and speak with the Farmer. For a reward you will get 100 experience points, 3 eyedrops, and 4000 col.
And that’s how you complete the Cost of Carelessness in Echoes of Aincrad! It is a pretty straightforward quest once you get to the end of the dungeon. Just defeat the monster, return back to Tolbana, and grab the reward!
