In this Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree Death Knight Boss #2 guide, we’re covering how to find and defeat the second Death Knight boss. The second Death Knight boss is located in the Scorpion River Catacombs. When you defeat him, you’re rewarded with 130,000 Runes, Death Knight’s Longshaft Axe, and x3 Cerulean Amber Medallion.
Enter the Scorpion River Catacombs
Enter the catacombs and take the platform down to the next level. Go straight and turn left at the end of the corridor. Continue straight over the bridge and keep an eye out for enemies. At the bottom of the stairs, turn left. In the next room, turn right and go down the stairs. Go through the doorway straight ahead and follow the path. At the bottom of the stairs, keep going straight. Once you reach the bottom of the next set of stairs, where the tiny doorway is, turn right.
At the bottom of these stairs, STOP. The next room is a giant trap. The ceiling has spikes and it will crush you. Wait for the spikes to rise and run to the alcove on your right. When the spikes fall and rise again, run forward and turn right. Immediately turn right into the next alcove where a ladder is located. Climb the ladder.
Avoid the Traps
There is an easy trick to get through the next trapped room. At the top of the ladder, walk straight and go to the railing on the right. When the spiked ceiling drops down, jump over the railing to get on top of the trap. Run to your left and when it lowers, drop down behind the crouched gargoyle enemy and go through the doorway behind it. Go up the stairs on the right and go straight. At the end of the hall, drop down and go right. There is a lever on your right to call the platform to you. Descend to the next level.
On the next level, go straight. The moment you turn right, slow-moving projectiles at the end of the hall begin flying at you. Use the alcove on the left to wait for them to pass. These projectiles move forward and backward. Wait until they pass a second time and then run ahead, down the stairs.
You’ll come across a crumbled wall that you can climb. Wait for the projectiles to pass over your head before climbing the crumbled stone. Go through the door on your right and follow the path.
At the room at the bottom of the stairs, turn right and then go up the stairs. There is another one of those same projectile enemies. Wait until they’re moving back to the gargoyle to follow them and turn right. Use the lever on the right to call the platform to you. Descend to the next level.
The doorway filled with mist is at the end of the hall.
How to Defeat Death Knight Boss #2 in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree
The second Death Knight has similar attacks as the first Death Knight in the Fog Rift Catacombs. He dual-wields axes for melee combos and uses lightning for long-distance attacks. However, this Death Knight can buff himself with wings and rush you, draining your HP to restore his. He will do this at half-health. Use your Mimic Tear to distract him and do long-distance damage.
