How to Defeat the Ark of the Living Flame in Eternal Strands
Ark of the Living Flame is a boss enemy in Upper Dynevron. This is the third game area. It’s a challenging zone with dangerous monsters. Defeating this enemy should not be too hard as long as you know what to expect.
How to Prepare for the Ark of the Living Flame Fight
As the name suggests, this Ark is Heat-based. It deals Heat damage, so you need to prepare accordingly. Before heading into battle, visit Sola’s Forge and reinforce your armor with Heat-based resources. This will help Brynn withstand Heat damage. By now, you should have enough Candescite to reforge your armor. The first game area, Glintwood Hollow, has a hidden spot where you can farm Candescite.
If you are wondering what weapons work best, you will be glad to know you can use your favorite melee or ranged weapon. Equip your best sword and shield for the encounter. If you have the frost sword, use it. Regular arrows will do enough damage to this boss. You can also use fire arrows if you prefer. Don’t worry too much about elemental damage, as hitting the Ark’s crucial spots is more important than the kind of damage you deal.
Vulnerable and Resource Spots
This Ark has vulnerable and resource spots. Hitting the vulnerable spots will help you bring down the enemy faster. However, if you want to make the most of this encounter, you should aim for the resource spots. Targeting these spots will reward you with high-quality materials, such as Cinder-Infused Linen and Refined Serenite.
The Ark has five resource spots:
- One on the chest.
- Two on the wrists.
- Two behind the knees.
Aim at the chest spot with your bow. Use the sword for the other four. It is recommended to break all five spots. Doing so will reveal another special spot that grants high-quality materials when destroyed.
The vulnerable parts of the Ark’s body are:
- The bottom half of the legs.
- Arms.
- Belly.
You can target the belly with the bow and the other parts with the sword.
Encounter Strategy
The strategy is to take care of the resource spots first to secure the loot. After you have destroyed all the resource spots, focus on the vulnerable spots to take down the Ark.
One move you should be aware of is the grab and toss. The boss will pick Brynn up with their hand and throw her away. Keep an eye on the boss’ hands. When it reaches out, run away from it. As long as you defend yourself against this ability, the rest of the fight should pose no other issues.
