In this guide, we’re covering Eternal Strands Treading Water Companion Quest. This quest has to be done before you can start the next main mission after Blazing a Trail and of course the Loomgates. For this companion quest, speak to Casmyn to learn how to create camp supplies and upgrade stations.
Speak to Casmyn In Treading Water Quest
Speak to Casmyn in camp, by the covered wagon. Select “Treading Water” during the dialogue to start the companion quest. Here, Casmyn apologizes for her earlier attitude towards you since you’ve done so much to help since then.
You have three options:
- “Glad we squared away our differences. Offer to help with Sola’s forge.”
- “She mentioned she was under a lot of stress. Wonder how she’s doing now.”
- “She was afraid of having an incompetent point. Ask why she places importance on the role.”
To progress the companion quest, select the first one and bring up Sola’s forge. Casmyn will tell you that, since they lost their supplies, they don’t have enough. Brynn offers to help with anything extra that she finds.
Repurpose Resources
Your objective is to repurpose 10 resources into supplies for the camp. If you have enough, speak to Casmyn again. If you need more resources, return to Glintwood Hollow and collect them.
Select Salvage Resources while interacting with Casmyn. Select any one of the resources and convert them into camp supplies. By hovering over the resource, you can see how many camp supplies it turns into in the bottom right corner. Each resource equals one camp supply. Select 10 of the same or 10 different resources and convert them all into camp supplies to progress the quest.
While talking to Casmyn after, you can select one of three options.
- “Sounds like improvements could be made. Tell her I’m on it.”
- “Casmyn can have all the shelves her heart desires. Tell her I’ll save the day… with organization!”
- “The better prepared our band is, the safer we all are. Assure her this is a high priority.”
The choices here don’t affect the story, so pick whichever you want.
Upgrade a Station
After talking with Casmyn again, your next goal is to use the new camp supplies to upgrade a station in the camp. Approach Casmyn again and select Upgrade Station to upgrade Sola’s Forge from Level 1 to Level 2. After you do that, speak to Casmyn one last time to complete the companion quest.
