Eternal Strands - Rising Tides Companion Quest

Rising Tides is an Eternal Strands companion quest. It is the second task in Casmyn’s quest line and comes after the first quest, Treading Water. It requires us to collect some crafting materials such as Acala Hides and Softwood

How to Start Rising Tides In Eternal Strands

This quest becomes available in Act 2. Complete the first main story quest of Act 2, The Lost City, and go to the camp to start the side mission. You can find Casmyn at her usual spot near the caravan. Talk to Casmyn to find out more about the task.

Casmyn will ask Brynn to gather three types of crafting materials. You can follow the quest and bring the materials one by one, or you can acquire them in advance to finish the quest immediately.

Task #1 – Collect Rasalt In Rising Tides Quest

Rasalt is the first material Casmyn wants. You might already have gathered some. You will learn how Tempered Foes drop various crafting materials. If you kill enemies using fire or ice, you will get different mats.

To acquire rasalt, you need to kill arks in Dynevron. You can find them in both the Lower and Upper regions of the area. They drop rasalt even if you don’t use fire to destroy them, but the drop chance is significantly increased if you kill them with fire.

If your fire damage is not that high yet, here is a little trick you can use. Put the grass on fire and kite the arks in the fire. They will die and drop the needed quest item. Return to Casmyn when you have enough rasalt and hand it in. A cutscene will play and Casmyn will give the next task.

Task #2 – Collect Acala Hides

Acala hides drop from Acala enemies. If you don’t have enough hides, simply travel to Glintwood Hollow and farm the Acala monsters. Return to Casmyn with the materials and receive the next objective.

Task #3 – Collect Softwood

The final task requires you to give 27 softwood to Casmyn. This is a common material, so you might even have enough to finish the quest. If you don’t, go to Dynevron and gather it. Return to Casmyn with the materials. She will then ask you for 90 Ashpeak scales. Luckily, Oria intervenes and talks some sense into Casmyn, putting an end to her ridiculous demands.
