Once you reach the Path to the Mountain mission you will begin unlocking the optional side quests or Favours as the game calls them
One such optional favour is Dead Freight, which involves killing the Captain’s Hel-Walker Crew
- MAIN STORY OBJECTIVE: Follow Mimir’s Instructions to the chisel (The Magic Chisel)
- RECOMMENDED LEVEL: 4
- REWARDS: Tyr’s Cuirass Recipe, Tyr’s Offering, 1880XP, Unfinished Business Trophy Achievement (Only if you complete Dead Freight, Time Heals All, The Anatomy of Hope, Hammer Fall and Unfinished Business)
- QUEST GIVER: Lake Spirit
- PREREQUISITE:
- LOCATION: Forgotten Caverns – Midgard
- GUIDE:
- In order to start this particular side quest you will need to head to the Forgotten Caverns, which is to the North.
- Here speak to the Lake Spirit to learn about Hel-Walkers
- After speaking with the Lake Spirit continue past him and into the small cave.
- Here you can find a chest containing 1332 Hacksilver next to a Mystic Gateway
- Defeat the wolves and turn left to find another chest, this time with 1495 Hacksilver
- Climb the wall and then jump the gap
- Climb yet another wall and then use the chain to lower yourself down to the lower ground
- Okay after that short detour of treasure farming, we can now begin searching for the Hel-Walkers
- We can start our search by heading to Nilfheim Tower
- Here ride the lift up and defeat the Hel-Walkers
- Whilst you are still here you can also find a Mystic Gateway and get the chance to read some runes on Tyr’s Braziers
- Our next destination for these Hel-Walkers is at the Isle of Death
- After defeating the Hel-Walkers you can find a chest located right, amongst a poison cloud
- If you look up you should be able to spot a fire lantern, use your Axe to drop it onto the chest and remove the poison
- Inside the chest is x1 Solid Svartalfheim Steel, x3 World Serpent Scale and x1 Etched Crest of Defiance
- Our final destination for the Hel-Walkers is at the Iron Cove, which is just South of the Isle of Death
- After dealing with the final wave of Hel-Walkers you should easily be able to spot a chest to the left, be careful though as an optional boss may spawn here
- If you defeat this optional boss then you will get the Fire Sigil of Focus (Rare Enchantment)
- As for this treasure chest, inside you can find x1 Solid Svartalfheim Steel and x3 World Serpent Scale
- After you are done exploring you can then return back to the Lake Spirit in order to complete the quest
DESCRIPTION:
The Tradesman Spirit told us there were three separate wrecks where his crew met their end. There was a sigil near the captain’s body, if we look for that symbol, we should be able to find his crew (who are now Hel-Walkers) and kill them… again
The spirit’s crew walks the earth no longer. We should go tell him they are now at rest… hopefully he can find some peace himself.

- Return to the Tradesman Spirit
