How to Paint in Heartopia

Heartopia is an addictive cozy life simulation game that can keep players busy for hours thanks to the wide variety of activities available. Upon reaching D.G. Member Level 14, the Painting Mode is unlocked. In this mode, players can not only paint on a canvas but also create custom designs for clothing and furniture.

Here’s how to get started with painting in Heartopia.

How to Unlock Painting Mode in Heartopia

Unfortunately, the painting mode is not available early on. To unlock this feature, players must first reach D.G. Member Level 14.

Once unlocked, a quest becomes available by speaking with Dorothee, the current owner of the Clothing Store. Interact with her and select Jean Morin’s Letter, then follow the quest until she directs players to Ka Ching, where the Drawing Board can be purchased.

To begin to paint in Heartopia, first purchase the Drawing Board from the Ka Ching General Store for 2,000 gold. Next, place the drawing board anywhere on the ground and tap the paint icon.

A new window will appear, displaying all available templates and any existing drawings. Players can also choose whether to paint on a canvas, clothing, or furniture. After making a selection, it’s time to start painting.

On the left side, players can find all the tools, including the brush, paint bucket, shape tool, eraser, and stamp. This section also shows a preview, allowing players to see how the artwork will look once it’s sewn. Meanwhile, the right side features a wide selection of color palettes to work with.

Once finished, or if the artwork needs to be continued later, select Save to store the progress.

How to Sew in Heartopia

You can also turn your artwork into wearable clothing by sewing it.

Head to your workbench and select the sew icon (the third icon). Choose the clothing type along with the artwork. A preview will appear on the left side, showing how it will look and helping players decide whether to proceed with sewing. Keep in mind that sewing clothes consumes a Tailoring Ticket.

Players can obtain 10 Tailoring Tickets after completing the quest. Additional tickets can be purchased for 80 Moonlight Crystals each, which can be quite expensive.
