Hytale Iron is a crafting material that allows you to obtain Iron Ingots. Superior to copper, iron opens up the possibility to craft more durable items.

How to Acquire Hytale Iron and Craft Iron Ingots
To mine iron, you need a mining tool. A crude pickaxe will do, but a copper pickaxe is better. To craft a copper pickaxe, you need:
- Copper Ingots x 3. Smelt copper to obtain ingots.
- Any Tree Trunk x 6. Chop trees to obtain trunks.
- Plant Fiber x 1. Attack patches of foliage to obtain fiber.
How to Find Iron Ore
To acquire Iron Ore, you will have to venture below the surface. You have two options: start digging until you find an iron vein or find a cave entrance to go underground. The recommendation is to find an underground opening, as this is a faster and easier way than starting to dig in random spots. Consider bringing an extra pickaxe, a repair kit, torches, and a weapon. You might run into monsters. Although not very menacing, underground creatures such as spiders, might hinder your Hytale Iron farming expedition.
Iron Ore blocks have a silver color with brownish veins. Use a torch and you will quickly spot them. Make sure to dig around the block to uncover hidden iron blocks. Iron is a basic resource, so you will have no trouble finding it in starting areas such as Emerald Winds in Zone 1, Howling Sands in Zone 2, and Whisperfrost Frontiers in Zone 3. In desert areas, you will find iron ore on the surface.
How to Craft Iron Ingots
To craft Iron Ingots in Hytale, you need a furnace. Build a workbench first and find the furnace under the Crafting tab. Getting the necessary materials, Any Tree Trunks and Any Stone, should be easy. You need six of each.
Once you have a furnace, interact with it and add Iron Ore from your inventory. Put charcoal, plant fiber, or wood in the fuel slot. Press the Turn On button and wait for the furnace to smelt the ore into Iron Ingots. You get one ingot for each Hytale Iron ore. Iron Ingots are used to craft superior tools and the iron armor set.
