How to Collect Hytale Thorium and Craft Thorium Ingots

There are three ways to collect Thorium Ore:

• You may occasionally find it in chests.
• Some enemies drop it when defeated.
• Mining it.

Mining is the most efficient way, so you shouldn’t rely on the first two methods.

How to Find Thorium Ore

You can mine Thorium with a crude pickaxe, but, ideally, you should use an iron pickaxe. The crafting materials for an iron pickaxe are:

• Iron Ingot x 5. Smelt iron ore in the furnace to obtain iron ingots.
• Light Leather x 2. Use the tanning rack to convert light hide into light leather.
• Linen Scraps x 2. Obtained as drops from humanoid enemies.

Thorium Ore is found in the second game zone, the Howling Sands. It can spawn both above and under the ground. Thorium blocks have a green color.

Look for the green blocks on the side of the mountains.

However, if you want to farm Hytale Thorium Ore in large quantities, the recommendation is to find a cave system in the brown areas of the map. Bring a torch, an extra mining tool, or some repair kits. Don’t forget a weapon, because these caves can hide enemies. By now, you should have iron-level gear, allowing you to quickly deal with the foes you might encounter.

How to Craft Thorium Ingots

To craft Thorium Ingots, you need a furnace and fuel. A tier 1 furnace will do. For fuel, you can use common resources, such as coal and wood.

Interact with the furnace and place the Thorium Ore in the Input slot. Turn on the furnace and the smelting process will transform the ore into ingots. Keep in mind that Hytale Thorium Ingots are advanced crafting materials that require tier 2 benches. Use the ingots to craft Thorium gear and tools, as they are superior to iron equipment.
