The Hytale Ancient Gateway is a doorway to other worlds. However, there’s a catch. Your time in this new realm is limited.

Hytale Ancient Gateway – How to Craft and Use a Doorway to Other Worlds
Like most things in Hytale, an Ancient Gateway is a crafted device. You need to unlock the crafting recipe, gather the necessary materials, and prepare for the expedition.
How to Unlock and Craft the Ancient Gateway
The recipe is automatically available after you discover 100 Memories. You record Memories as you encounter various creatures. The first time you come across a new entity, you will retain its Memory. Visit the Forgotten Temple to permanently record a Memory and check out the available rewards. Once you have collected 100 Memories, you will be able to craft the Hytale Ancient Gateway.
To create the portal device, you need an Arcanist’s Workbench and the following materials:
- Cobblestone x 30 – obtained by mining stone blocks.
- Thorium Ingot x 30 – obtained by smelting Thorium ore, which you can mine in desert areas.
- Essence of the Void x 10 – obtained as drops from Void creatures.
- Essence of Life x 10 – obtained by harvesting crops.
How to Open a Portal and Explore a New Hytale World
To use the Ancient Gateway, you will need portal Fragments. Each Fragment allows you to explore a different world for a short while.
There is a total of 5 Gateway Fragments which you can use and many of them can be crafted using Essence Of Life. Only the Silent Henges and the Tal’Kesi Refuge are exclusions to this

To use a Fragment, place it on your action bar, and interact with the Hytale Ancient Gateway to open a portal. A new world allows you to discover new creatures, fight enemies, farm resources, and loot chests. Windrider Valley is an excellent location for chests and resources. Whilst the Dragonspire Weald has many enemies. With that said the Dread Wade is a terrifying area where you can find many Void creatures and farm Hytale Void Hearts.
The recommendation is to equip your best gear (at least Iron-tier equipment) and have enough Repair Kits, food, and other useful consumables. Bear in mind that you only have a few minutes to explore before the portal closes and you get ported back to your base. You can leave before the timer runs out by typing /leave in the chat command or using the portal.
