Hollow Knight Silksong’s visuals and tone can make it seem like a cozy and calming experience, but wait until it frustrates you. Besides falling, there are enemies, both small and large, that can chip away at your health. Once you die, you’ll have to restart from the last checkpoint. Luckily, healing is available in Hollow Knight Silksong.

How to Heal in Hollow Knight Silksong

In Hollow Knight Silksong, you can find your health bar on the top left of your screen. Attacks from the enemies can deplete this. Here’s how you can regain and heal.

Farming Silk and Using Bind

Below your health bar, you’ll see a Silk gauge. This bar increases after killing an enemy or hitting an enemy or cobwebs. However, you cannot use it anytime; the bar must be filled before you can activate it. To heal, use Bind (by default: PC – A, Xbox – B, and PS5 – Circle). This will trigger an animation that takes a while to finish. Afterward, Hornet will regain three health.

Tips when using Bind:

Do not use Bind when an enemy is about to attack. Hornet isn’t invulnerable, and she can be interrupted while using Bind. If she’s hit during the animation, she won’t regain any masks at all. It’s best to use Bind only in safe spots, when enemies aren’t attacking, or when they’re stunned.
Avoid using this ability if Hornet already has at least three masks of health. Since her maximum health capacity is only five masks, and each bind restores three, activating it at this point would waste potential healing.

Rest on a Bench

As you progress through Hollow Knight: Silksong, you’ll come across benches where Hornet can rest. Interact with them by pressing the Up arrow, and your health bar will be instantly refilled.
