Marvel Cosmic Invasion Thanos Boss Fight Guide

Your success in the fight against Thanos depends on two things:

  • Encounter strategy.
  • Team composition.

Thanos Fight Strategy and Attack Moves

Team composition aside, knowing how to deal with Thanos’ attacks is paramount to winning the fight. You will want to recognize his attack patterns and react accordingly to avoid taking damage.

Uppercut Attack

Marvel Cosmic Invasion Thanos Uppercut Attack

Thanos has an uppercut attack that deals serious damage. Keep an eye on his fists and move away when you see the flame animation, which signals the attack. You should block this attack and gain a few seconds during which you can deal damage.

Blades and Adds

Blades and Adds

The cue for this attack is the boss snapping his fingers and leaping back to his throne. Shortly after, a spinning blade and two adds join the fray. They will spawn at the marked locations. Move out of the blade’s path while you deal damage to the adds. In the second phase of the Marvel Cosmic Invasion Thanos fight, you have to deal with two blades and four adds.

Drones

Drones

Six drones, three on each side of the screen, will spawn and send projectiles towards you. The projectiles are fairly easy to dodge, however, things can become hectic if the adds are not dead yet. Notice that one drone has blue sparkles and its turret is aiming at the boss. Hit that drone and it will send a projectile knocking Thanos out of his throne and back onto the battlefield. He is stunned for a few seconds, so use this opportunity to unleash your hardest-hitting moves on the boss.

Laser Cannon

The boss uses his cannon to fire a giant laser beam at you. Move out of the beam’s way as soon as you see the cannon.

Suggested Team Compositions For Fighting Thanos in Marvel Cosmic Invasion

Silver Surfer and Phyla-Vell

Silver Surfer is one of the best Marvel Cosmic Invasion characters. He can parry attacks, fly, and deal AOE damage. Phyla-Vell does an excellent job at dealing with the minions.

Phoenix and Beta Ray Bill

Beta Ray Bill can pull all the enemies and Phoenix’s ultimate deals high damage, meaning that you are able to get rid of the adds in no time. Beta Ray Bill also has powerful basic attacks.

Storm and Wolverine

Storm is a well-rounded hero who can fly and dodge attacks. Wolverine has quick movement speed and a passive ability that allows him to recover HP.

These are not the only viable team compositions. Ultimately, you can use whichever heroes you are most comfortable with to win the Marvel Cosmic Invasion Thanos fight and unlock the Mad Titan Thwarted trophy.
