Zoh Shia High Rank is a new Monster Hunter Wilds enemy made available by the first Title Update. You can now fight the final boss again and obtain valuable drops. Let’s see what you must do to unlock and defeat HR Zos Shia!
A First Cry
To be able to fight the HR version of the final boss, you must be at least HR 50 and complete the quest A First Cry. Make your way to Suja and interact with Werner to start the quest. He will tell you that the beast is alive and you need to investigate the situation.

Before going to the Dragontorch, prepare your gear and items. The high rank variant poses a serious challenge, so you should prepare accordingly. Talk to Alma when you are ready to begin the hunt.
How to Defeat Zos Shia High Rank In Monster Hunter Wilds
The monster is weak to Dragon. The recommendation is to enhance your weapon with that element. Melee weapons that deal cut or blunt damage work best for this fight. Its weakpoints are the head, tail, and wing talons. The HR battle is similar to the regular one in terms of tactics, but the attacks deal more damage. Pay attention to the telegraphs and ground markings that notify of incoming AOE attacks, as these deal significant damage. The fight has three phases.
Phase 1

At the beginning of the fight, the monster has an armor that protects it against damage. The priority during this phase is to break the wings, head, and legs. You can do this with the use of Piercing Pods and Dragon Pods. Attack the Wylk Crystals with elemental Slinger ammo.
Zoh Shia High Rank – Phase 2

In this phase, the boss uses fire-based AOE attacks. Your aim is to destroy the Giant Wylk Crystals. You can use Slinger ammo or hit the crystals with melee attacks. The wings are now exposed, so you can damage them. If you get Fireblight, use a Nullbery.
Phase 3

The armor doesn’t protect the boss anymore, meaning you can damage its weakpoints. Make sure to run away when it roars, as this is the telegraph for a lightning AOE attack. Pay attention to the fire and lightning combo. This attack can be fatal.
The HR drops are:
- Blackember Mass.
- Faux Whitegleam Orb.
- Stakeclaw.
- Crystalhorn.
- Crystaltail.
- Crystalscale.
- Layershell.
- Guardian Blood+.
- Certificate S.
