Monster Hunter Wilds Mizutsune Start Quest

Note that you must have completed Life, In Microcosm to start Spirit in the Moonlight. This is a simple mission and you can complete it right there. Once you are ready, speak with Kanya to start the hunt.

How to Defeat Mizutsune

The monster is weak against Thunder, Dragon, and Ice. Its weakspots are the tail, head, and dorsal fin. The front legs and claws are susceptible to Dragon and Thunder. The monster’s weakness for ranged weapons is one star. If a bow or bowgun is your weapon of choice, target the monster’s weakspots. The beast will mainly use its tail, claws, and fangs to attack. Keep an eye on the tail as it seems to use it more than the claws and fangs.

Monster Hunter Wilds Mizutsune Bubbles

The Bubble attack is the one you should watch out for because it applies the Bubbleblight status ailment in addition to dealing damage. This condition increases the recovery time and can also cause you to slip. You can use Cleansers to remove Bubbleblight.

You can pop these bubbles with attacks and Slinger ammo. Avoid or destroy the bubbles, but not the red and green ones. The red bubbles boost your damage and the green ones heal you. The good news is that all of the attacks have a telegraph, so you can react as necessary. Avoid the attacks and use the recovery time to deal damage.

Deal Damage

The drop list includes various monster parts that serve as crafting materials for armor and weapons. You should target the beast’s breakable parts to obtain the best drops.

The HR drops from breakable parts are:

  • The head drops Fin+.
  • The dorsal fin drops Fin+.
  • The tail drops Tail, Water Orb, and Purplefur+.
  • The front claws drop Claw+.
