The “Relics of the Path” contract in Skull and Bones can be accepted from the Sea People Merchant on Verona. To find their lost relics, the Sea People Merchant gives you a map to help you find the treasure.
How to Open the “Relics of the Past” Treasure Map
To open the map, return to your ship. Click “Manage Cargo” and find the Treasure Map in the cargo on your ship. Left-click it and select “Read Treasure Map” to view the map. If you select the “Track” option, you’ll be able to view the map when you press “X”.
How to Find the Relics on the “Relics of the Past” Treasure Map
To find the treasure’s location, there are three components on the map you need to decode. The first is the message written on the top, the second is the peninsula pictured on the map itself, and the third is the image of the cross and the shovel on the upper right side of the map.
Reading the “Relics of the Past” Treasure Map’s Message
The message sprawled across the top of the map reads “One of our camps was raided by the Fara at Red Isle, Tenina Coast, in Fort Louis, and our brothers and sisters returned to the Sea. We left our items there for fear of another raid, the relic included.”
This message tells you which part of the ocean you need to be in to find the location drawn on the map. The first location that the map mentions is the Red Isle. Pressing “M” to open your actual map shows that the Red Isle is the name of the region you’re starting in. This include Sainte-Anne as well as the nearby Fara and Sea People settlements.
Tenina Coast is the second location mentioned. By examining the map of the nearby islands, you’ll find that Tenina Coast is in what are currently uncharted waters for you near the bottom edge of the map. Place a marker on Tenina Coast so that you can travel there easily.
The last location mentioned on the map is Fort Louis. This is the name of the settlement the treasure is buried at. However, since you’ve not explored this way you will be unable to find it on the map. Instead, this is where you’ll need to rely on the image on the left side of the map.
The Location Drawn on the Treasure Map
Once you’ve sailed to Tenina Coast, you’ll need to explore around the area to find an island that has the same layout as the one drawn on the map. The quickest way to do this is by heading forward and to the right when you get to Tenina Coast.
As a helpful hint, once you’ve gotten near the coast one or multiple of your crew members will hint at the treasure being nearby. When you think you’ve found the right settlement, disembark to find out if it is Fort Louis.
The Image of the Tools
The image at the top right of the treasure map tells you what to look for when you step onto the shores of Fort Louis. Luckily, the treasure is close to the shore. Just head up a few steps and left to see the cross and the shovel next to it. The game will prompt you to dig up the relics here.
How to Return the Lost Relic
To turn in the lost Relic, sail to Palisade Bay. It is between two of the settlements visited in the “Brokered Ground” quest. Pull your ship up beside the settlement and hold “S” to turn in the Skull and Bones “Relics of the Past” contract.
