Game Guides Rise Of The Ronin

To begin the Rise of the Ronin– A Last Request side quest, follow the quest marker and speak to the beggar in the stables. He’ll tell you that he’s looking for his daughter and needs your help. You have two dialogue options.

  • “Please go on.”
  • “…Alright, let’s hear your story.”

Either choice leads to the beggar telling you his story. You can pick whichever choice works best with your character’s personality. The first one is a kinder response, while the second one is reluctant, possibly even annoyed.

Beginning of the Rise of the Ronin- A Last Request Side Quest

He tells you that after losing his business and his wife, he put his daughter in a geisha house and told her he’d come back soon. He never did. When his health started to fail he went searching for her, only to learn she’d been bought. He wants to see his daughter one last time, even if only in a photograph. You have three dialogue options.

  • “Leave it to me.”
  • “I’m busy right now.”
  • “Can you describe your daughter to me?”

If you select the last one, he’ll describe his daughter’s unique beauty to you. Select the top one to begin the quest. He tells you his daughter’s name is Risa. He recommends speaking to the other geisha to learn about her.

Tricking the Beggar

Your new objective is to track down the beggar’s daughter. Follow the marker and you’ll come across two brigands harassing a woman and you have to defeat them in battle. The woman will thank you for saving her life and you have two dialogue options.

  • “Do you know a girl by the name of ‘Risa’?”
  • “I’m looking for someone. Her name’s ‘Risa’.”

Once again, pick whichever matches your character’s personality since his has no impact on the quest. The woman says she used to work with her and asks what happened. You have two dialogue options.

  • “Her father’s looking for her.”
  • “There’s something I need to tell her.” (Speechcraft “persuade” needed)

This decision is very important as it affects the quest’s storyline. By selecting the first option, the woman admits she knows about Risa’s dad and what he did. She offers to pose as Risa and you have two options.

  • “Let me take your photograph…”
  • “This is for your trouble…” (Give money)

Select the first option to take her photo. Pull out your camera and follow the instructions on the screen that tell you how to use it. Your next objective is to show the photo to the beggar. When you return, the beggar knows it’s not his daughter but still says he appreciates your help either way.

Finding the Beggar’s Real Daughter

If you’ve unlocked “persuade” and select the option “There’s something I need to tell her” then the woman tells you a foreign merchant bought out Risa’s contract and she gives you the address. Follow the new marker.

When you reach the mansion, it’s surrounded by thugs and you have to rescue Risa. She thanks you and asks why you’re here. You have two dialogue options.

  • “You’re Risa, right? Your father sent me.”
  • “How is it that you speak Japanese so well?”

Select the first one. Risa asks what could her father want after abandoning her. You have two dialogue options.

  • “He’d like to see you again, if only in a photogr…”
  • “He asked me to take your photograph.”

Her father’s selfishness angers her no matter which choice you pick. You have two more dialogue options after.

  • “If I don’t take your picture, I won’t get paid.”
  • “It’s your father’s dying wish.” (Speechcraft “persuade” needed)

If you made it this far, then you already have “persuade” unlocked and it’s the best option to convince her. Take her picture and take it back to the man. The beggar is grateful.
