In this guide, we’re covering STALKER 2 Heart of Chornobyl In the Name of Science Side Quest. This mission becomes available after the Visions of Truth Main Quest, but only if you gave the Controller Project Documents to Doctorant Shcherba during the In Search of Past Glory mission. Read on to learn more about this side mission.
Beginning In the Name of Science Side Quest – STALKER 2 Heart Of Chornobyl
After the Visions of Truth mission, Doctor Shcherba will contact you about this side quest. You can choose to respond with “Okay” or “I’m too busy.” Selecting the first option will begin the quest but selecting the second option will postpone it for later. If you decide to put this quest off for later, you can visit the doctor in the Chemical Plant to start it.
Collecting Electronic Collars In the Name of Science Mission
Once you’ve accepted the quest, you’ll have to find five electronic collars, most of which require you to kill a mutant. The first collar is located in the Boathouse on the Wild Island. The Psy Bayum mutant will have it. The second collar is in the Brood in the Garage on a Snork. A Third collar is in the Hydrodynamics Lap in Zaton on a Controller. A fourth collar is in the containers in the Red Forest on a Pseudogiant. The last collar can be collected by interacting with Brian Scorcher in Malachite.
Disable or Recalibrate the Jammer
After collecting the collars, you have to return them to the doctor. From there on, your next goal is to find the jammer to jam the signals. The jammer is located in the Roofed Warehouse northeast of Storage on the Hill. Once inside, you’ll have to fight mutants, avoid anomalies, and flip two switches. Once you find the jammer, you have two options: disable or recalibrate it.
If you recalibrate the jammer, the mission will end as soon as you leave the bunker.
If you decide to disable it, you’ll have to fight 3 Bloodsuckers later on.
Finishing the Quest
Choosing to disable the jammer makes the quest longer. After you’ve disabled it, return to Shcherba. You have to fight his three Bloodsuckers before confronting him. When you confront him, you have two options:
- [Attack] You’re finished.
- You can go.
The first option will negatively affect your relationship with the scientist and Dvupalov and you won’t get the Gauss Gun. The section option has no negative impact.
