When you first started playing Slay the Spire 2, you’ll find yourself squinting your eye over every card trying to make sense of their next move. Some are easy to figure out, and while there are some that will leave you scratching your head. One of these is the Byrdonis Egg.
Here’s how to find the Byrdonis Egg in Slay the Spire 2, and whether it’s worth getting.
Where to find the Byrdonis Egg in Slay the Spire 2?
Players can find the Byrdonis Egg in Slay in Spire 2 in the Byrdonis Nest.

This event will appear after entering an ‘Unknown’ room, the one marked ?. This room will welcome you with the Byrdonis Nest that gives you two options.
Should you eat or take the Byrdonis Egg in Slay the Spire 2?
- Eat the Egg: Gain 7 Max HP
- Take the Egg: Add Byrdonis Egg card to your deck
Eat the egg seems to be the go to choice. It allows you to hold more max HP, giving you more room to survive the fights.
However, if you’re much comfortable with your deck and skill, we do recommend getting the Byrdonis Egg.
How does the Byrdonis Egg work in Slay the Spire 2?
By picking the Byrdonis Egg, you’ll get the Byrdonis Egg quest card. It is unplayable, it is so useless. This however changes once you hatch it.
How to hatch the Byrdonis Egg in Slay the Spire 2?
Players can hatch the Byrdonis Egg by entering a rest site.

Now this is where it becomes tricky.
Upon using the hatch option, you’ll get to hatch the card and you’ll receive a Byrd Swoop.
Byrdswoop is a 0-cost card that deals 14 damage. Each time it appears, you get a free 14 damage against an enemy, making it well worth the investment. It’s guaranteed to be good, but it has its own trade-offs.
You can only select one option in the rest site, unless you have the Miniature Tent relic. By hatching it, you’ll sacrifice an upgrade to one of your cards, and lose the ability to heal yourself or your teammate.
Additionally, since this card requires a campsite, make sure there’s at least one along your path where you can hatch it. Having the unhatched Byrdonis card in your deck means you might end up with a dead card that’s barely usable. The sooner you can hatch the egg, the better.
