In Slay the Spire 2, players will encounter enemies that don’t just deal damage, but also add status cards. These status cards are negative cards that can put players at a disadvantage if not handled properly. They can take up space in a deck, reduce energy or other resources, or cause damage.

BeckonIf this is in your hand after your turn, you lose 6 HP. This card however is playable. You can consume 1 energy to get rid of this.
BurnUnplayable. This card makes you lose 2 damage through burn.

Frantic EscapeUsed to increase Sandpit by 1. A necessary card during The Insatiable boss fight.
InfectionUnplayable card. You’ll receive 3 damage per each card at the end of the turn if this is in your hand
Mind RotMakes you draw 1 less card each turn. Card given by the Knowledge Demon.
Slimed1-cost card that draws 1 card upon used. It gets exhausted after that. You’ll receive this upon encountering slime enemies.
ToxicPlayable and is exhausted after used. You’ll get 5 damage after turn if this is in your hand
SootUnplayable card. Card given by the Knowledge Demon.
SlothThis card can make you play only three cards per turn. Card given by the Knowledge Demon.
VoidUnplayable, ethereal card. You lose 1 energy upon drawing this card.
Waste AwayYou receive 1 less energy per turn. Card given by the Knowledge Demon.
