Birth of Evil is a bonus mission in The First Berserker: Khazan. This quest allows you to fight an optional boss, Gilsan. As well as being able to unlock the Trace of Two trophy. Let’s see what you must do to complete the mission!
How to Start Birth of Evil
This bonus mission becomes available after you complete the main quest Fall of the Empire in the Capital City Vitalon. Find Yulian at the grand stairs in the Vitalon Residence and talk to him to start this side quest.
Go up the stairs and activate the Destroyed Bridge portal. Interact with Andel and Seona to find out more about your mission.
How to Complete Birth of Evil
Once you are ready to begin the mission, go towards the gate where you will encounter several enemy packs. Defeat them and make your way to the left. Notice the jars near the broken cart. Destroy them to find the Jarling.
How to Find the Soulstones
Soulstone 1
From the Jarling’s location, go back to the main route and make your way to the end to loot the chest. Take the stairs to the left and go down, defeating the enemies you encounter along the way. Destroy the purple chaos stone to unlock the right path. Loot the corpse for an Unstable Soul Tearstone. Trace your steps back to the main route and follow the road into the narrow area. Destroy the cart and take the stairs up to reach the Soulstone.
Soulstone 2
From the Noble’s Manor portal, make your way to the second floor. You need to destroy the barricades to access the stairs. Defeat the enemies and find the Soulstone in the middle of the room. It is behind a pillar. Don’t forget to grab the Ghost Gem near the big statue in the same room.
How to Defeat Gilsan
The optional boss Gilsan waits for you on the third floor. He is armed with two daggers and has several attacks you need to dodge.
Gilsan uses the following attacks:
- Four Strikes. The boss delivers four quick attacks.
- Spin Attack. The boss will use this move when you stay close to him for too long.
- Aerial Attack. The boss jumps into the air and does a frontal kick upon landing.
- Kick Attack. The boss dashes at you.
Avoiding Gilsan’s attacks is the key to winning the fight. The boss moves fast and you need to react to his attack with fast dodges. Once Gilsan is down, the mission will end and you will unlock the trophy. Don’t forget to talk to Seona after watching the final cutscene.
