Early in The Sinking City 2, you’ll eventually need to open a floodgate to continue towards the Miskatonic Library Annex. Unfortunately, the gate mechanism is broken, and you’ll need to find three Electrical Fuses before you can get it working again.
Here’s how to open the floodgate and solve the fuse box puzzle.
How to Open the Floodgate in The Sinking City 2
To open the floodgate, you’ll need to activate the fuse box located near the Safe Room.
From the Floodgate, enter the building directly across from it and head upstairs, where you’ll find the fuse box and the Gate Switchboard clue. You’ll still need another clue and the missing fuses before you can repair the mechanism.
To start, enter the nearby Safe Room with a glowing blue mark on the door. Save your game, and use the other door to leave the building. From here, take the other door and leave the building.
Enter the Garrison St. Apartments next to the Allen Radio Store. Make your way upstairs and enter Room 6, where you’ll find some breakable crates covering a way down. This room is next to Apartment 5, where you’ll find a Safe box with ammo inside.
Drop to the floor below and pick up the Gate Fuses and Wires clue. There’s also a crawlspace nearby that leads directly into the Allen Radio Store.

Where to Find the Electrical Fuses
Once inside the Allen Radio Store, continue through the area until you find the Electrical Fuses. You can find it exactly under the white poster. All three fuses are collected together as a Key Item, so you don’t need to search for them separately.
Move the obstacle that’s blocking the door, return to the floodgate and interact with the fuse box.
The correct fuse setup is:
- Blue wires: Straight two-ended fuse
- Green wires: Three-ended fuse (T-shaped)
- Red wires: Remaining two-ended fuse (Reversed L shape)
Rotate each fuse until it connects the matching colored wires, then confirm the puzzle.
Once everything is connected correctly, simply pull the switch beside the fuse box. The floodgate will open, allowing you to return to your boat and continue towards the Miskatonic Library Annex.
