How to Discover The Sinking City 2 Salt Storage Code

The Salt Storage door has a lock panel featuring 16 buttons with Roman numbers.

To unlock it, you need to press four buttons. Three notes hold the clues required to solve The Damned investigation:

• The 16 Punishments of the Sailor.
• Instructions to Sybil.
• Warning for Sybil.

Where to Find the Salt Storage Code Notes

The Damned investigation has three notes, but you don’t need all three to figure out the Salt Storage code.

The 16 Punishments of the Sailor

Once you reach the Pub, interact with the wooden board on the wall to the left of the bar counter to collect The 16 Punishments of the Sailor note.

Instructions to Sybil

The Instructions to Sybil note is on a sideboard at the top of the stairs leading to Ma Fishface.

Warning to Sybil

The Warning to Sybil note is in the Jewelry Shop.

Analyze the Instructions to Sybil note and notice that the four clues correspond to four of The 16 Punishments of the Sailor:

• Confined to ship – I.
• Deprived o’ beer – IV.
• Tarred an’ feathered – IX.
• Keelhauled – XVI.

The Warning to Sybil note says to look for the square numbers. The squares from 1 to 16 are:

• 1 – corresponds to the Roman number I.
• 4 – corresponds to the Roman number IV.
• 9 – corresponds to the Roman number IX.
• 16 – corresponds to the Roman number XVI.

So, you can solve the Salt Storage puzzle using The 16 Punishments of the Sailor and Instructions to Sybil or just the Warning to Sybil note. I-IV-IX-XVI is the code that unlocks The Sinking City 2 Salt Storage door. Return to the panel with Roman numerals and press the buttons to open the door.
